I find it funny when people ask \"is there a point to models that big\" and the model they are referring too, really isn\'t that large at all.

hehe :)

Me, I like the larger models. THey are closer to scale for what they should be (according to fluff, monster manuals, etc) and they look cooler :)

Sadly they take up too much room.

My TSR Draconimicon is in the ITS (*) room otherwise I\'d dig out the tables of sizes for their idea of Dragons.


(*) ITS = In There Somewhere.

The one\'s I saw where only the size of one hill.. :rolleyes: I thought they were adult, but the zookeeper said they were teenagers and hadn\'t developed the ability to breath flames.

That dragon is hooooge and definitely something I\'ll be getting :D The trouble is Avicenna has requested one for his birthday, so that will mean two of those things in our house. I\'d better make sure I get two girls or two boys, don\'t want any baby dragons arriving...... ;)

I have to agree about larger sized models - they are a must and when it comes to monsters, they have to be shown in proportion.....although I do have quite a collection of small dragons, in fact I have quite a collection of dragons full stop :rolleyes:

I have this...

i have the council of wyrms poster.

A great wyrm silver (which is NOT even close to the largest D&D dragons) is so big, a (too scale) elf..is smaller than the dragons smaller claw talons (not all of the claw..just one of them even)...

I want the largest dragons to be to THAT scale :)

It\'s not bad at all. I\'ve got the cynwall though and the building and painting of that thing is a bit of a bitch. So much unneeded detail it\'s like painting a cheesegrater.
I\'ve got to say though guys. The GW dragon is gonna rock everybodies boat. It is a \"real\" looking dragon ... stunning

which GW dragon are you talking about demonherald? Other than the FW ones...the ones GW makes themselves all suck...

The one I got to se at a meeting last year that I\'m not allowed to say I\'ve seen..There are allsorts of rumours flying about at gw about it ranging from it\'ll be released next year to it won\'t see the light of day for 5 or more...

Well supposedly the GW plan was to make one generic plastic dragon kit which has parts to make high elf, wood elf, chaos dragon etc ala the Giant kit. If that is true it would be quite an undertaking. A fully plastic dragon has the potential to be tastily huge though :cool:

The quality of GW plastics is really very nice lately (loving the eldar warithlord and war walkers, plastic balrog is cool too) so I would hope they would do a good job on a dragon

They already have a fully plastic dragon... i reckon that what they will do is make a plastic sprue for the extras instead of the metal components, rather than a whole new dragon...

The S-shap is there so that the miniature is viable for gaming with. Otherwise you\'d have an 8 inch long serpent on the table which could hve 22 25mm based enemies attacking it...
