Well..... Finally took the plunge and decided to have a go with Polymer clay. GOODBYE putty! I am lovign this stuff! This guy will one of four new bonebacks not includign a mounted chieftan due out in June.
In case Tre doesn't get back here quickly. The polymer clay he's using is called Cernit. Apparently it's a very firm clay which suits him. I've got a couple of blocks on order to give it a try too.
Cernit is a lovely clay. Only problem I have with it is that it tends to sack a bit if you wait too long before baking it. Far from as expensive as green stuff but still not very cheap. Basically it's exactly the same thing as FIMO
how's this guy progressing???
what kind of weapon is he gonna have???
i like where this is goin', but next time drop you light a little, and shine it directly on the mouth to knock out the shadows...
i wanna see those crazy chompers in all their glory...
keep up the good work...
you have definitely defined a style all your own...
not easy to do with all the great sculptors out there...
the one pictured her eis now finished. The second of the series is almost finished, and the third will about 50% done. Sculptign in polyclay is liek wearing a set of wings for me. I love it!
There will be three footmen, each will have modular weapon fittings. There will be a choice of a stone axe, flint club, a broken great sword. The leader figure will have a scavenged weapon from an as yet unrevealed faction.
Of course I meant sag, too close to our own word for it. And that's the story I'm sticking to! And it'll only lose detail over time if it'll be left unbaked in a warm area for a while.
We are not only crap at speaking English, we have also been recognised as the best foreign speakers in the world! Though that was quite a few years ago and you know... Kids these days.
Well it's been baked now, and already I must repair it's ears. Both of which broke off almost immediately after removign fromt eh oven. But then I figured as much would happen. They were thin ( or maybe thinner ) than paper. Almost finished with the fourth and final footman, then it is on to the mounted cheiftan!
