Check \'em out here boys and girls! I love the Crimson Knight! I think he may be the best thing Bobby Jackson has done yet. :D :wow: And the \"Indian water buffalo\" Minotaur rocks too. Snazzy!:bouncy::bouncy::cool:

That\'s one yummie fly demon! Buzz buzz, eat your soul.

But what is it with these guys and the dragon turtles? I\'m not objecting, mind, but isn\'t it strange how they have two different scultps for this one rather unpopular monster?

The new greens are great, but there is one little detail that bothers me.

The Dark Heaven line used to recycle too much of their previous models, hence the reason why after painting 3 or 4 Garrity minis one has that deja vu feeling. Although the old Warlord Templar is a cool model, I kinda expected them not to recycle sculpts this time.

The new one is also cool, but you can clearly see most of it comes from the Lightbringer one.

dragon-turtle complex

Dragon-turtles are unpopular? Don\'t say that too loud. We don\'t want to give them a complex. They will never come out of their shell.lollol

Nothing worse than bad turtle jokes (ask Dana Carvey in \"MASTER OF DISGUISE\")

Back to the point....

Jason Weibe is fast becoming my favorite Reaper sculptor. Such cool stuff.

Why is it though, that the \'greens\' always seem to have a neater look than the actual pewter? Maybe it\'s just me, or maybe I should just paint them lime green!!

:]

Dragon Turtles

Unpopular, you say? Not with me! They\'re a potent combination of power and longevity! I\'ve got a couple already, including the first Reaper model. And yes, I\'m planning to get the new one as well. Why, then I\'ll have a *family* of dragon turtles...

Hey! Those sculpting blanks may very well come in handy, don\'t ya think? I mean, they look pretty versatile, you could probably make most of the super heroes etc. you could ever want without too much sculpting talent. The male has an overly large \"basket\" but maybe that\'s what they mean by \"heroic\". Easily filed down (ouch!) as is the female\'s heroic-size bust.

I currently have some of the older sculpting blanks, but I don\'t like them. First, they all look male, second there\'s little room for improvement. I haven\'t opened them if someone wants to trae but it\'s about time we had a female version, so it doesn\'t look like I\'m sculpting Ahrnold with a bigger chest... Course, knowing some CMON artists, this wouldn\'t be anything new to them.. :p

Also, is it me or does the crimson knight look like a cross between the old Heroquest Chaos Knights and a KISS musican?

Hey! You got a problem with KISS, Chrispy? :p I really dig the Scarlet Knight, at least he\'s unique. I wonder what color I should paint him though... ;)

Yeah, all I\'d need is be able to sculpt a mouth, nose, eyes, cheekbones... hopeless, let me tell you! :(

Hence my thought of fielding a unit of nothing but sculpting blanks;)

I mentioned super heroes not only because there\'s a dearth of good superhuman minis out there, but... a lot of them wear masks! My first sculpting attempt was Orgazmo, from the Trey Parker movie, ok, not a conventional hero but also not muscular, and he wears a mask so I had to worry less about sculpting accurate muscles AND face :) He sort of has a Jack Palance nose and a mouth which lacks definition, and a mask over his eyes. The hair turned out ok though. I think blanks would just be fun to play around with, see what you could do and so on.

I definately agree. Seriously, I may get some just to try my hand at it. At least you don\'t have to worry about the basic proportions. And, like Chrispy said, it\'s nice to see a female form as well. Still, If I do give it a try, I\'ll probably chicken out and nick the head off an existing mini to meld onto the form. At least for a time or two.
