Actually, my collection is slightly larger then that, I\'m just not crazy enough to photograph it all!:D
Shadizar: Your \'Core\' collection is very impressive, you even have a couple of pieces I missed! But I have the original \"Blue Box Set\" , so I got you beat there. ;)
One of the only reasons my collection is so huge is because I was lucky enough to be working near a Comic shop that was going out of business and selling all their gaming stuff 60% off! The shop was around for years and had tons of old stuff, so I pretty much bought them out!

On Topic: I can assume WHFRP WON\'T be D20 compatible? Damn shame, \'cause I\'ll buy anything that can be used in my D20 campaign; it\'s just too much of a pain converting stuff.

You\'re quite right Markus, d20 haven\'t touched it. It\'s still with roughly the original system according to reports...percentile mostly then :).

Anja, how do you work new characters back into the game? Do you use really crazy coincidences to slip them in or do you start all over from the beginning?

@ Rev
Usually the GM waits until the group has arrived at a place like a bar, a market or a similar place with lots of people where it\'s easy for a new charachter to join the group. Sometimes this doesn\'t really work though, especially if someone dies when we\'re on a long journey or something. Then he has to use those bizarre coincidences. One time we found a new charachter locked in a small cave, no more than a hole in the wall, another charachter was held hostage by a gang of goblins that we just \"happened\" to run into.
I like the bizarre coincidences best lol

...coincidences do happen...it\'s the universe\'s way of making sure things do get unglued...hail the inevitable increase in entrophy!...

...btw, Astonia, your entry in NE Chaptermaster was tops!...liked yours the best of what I\'m seeing on the poster...

:):bouncy::)

Thanks marineboy! I haven\'t seen the poster myself yet, I\'ll have to stop by the GW store and have a look I guess :)

Those are my favorites too, some of my memorable RP experiences happened when we got detoured to rescue/find a new player! I used to be in a group with twenty players and we would play from Friday afternoon to late Sunday night. Different people would come and go at different times and on different days, so our DM had to be a creative genius to keep the game flowing smoothly. Ahhhh...those were some good times...

Astonia[/i] I see your from Sweden, but are you originally from Estonia? Or is that just a name you chose? I\'m only asking because my mother\'s family is Estonia, and since 99.99% of Americans have never heard of that country it pretty rare when I meet someone from there.

I\'m half finnish and half swedish actually, but I have no connection to Estonia. Astonia was the name of my very first rpg charachter.

finally!

finally, something to take us away again from RuneQuest - the most lethal of RPG\'s

i don\'t think our parties ever made it alive from our first encounter - random or otherwise without some character getting a limb hacked off by a bandit, or a tiger mauling over our most haridest fighter.

can\'t wait to have a character last an entire campaign again!

I remember Rolemaster used to be called Roll-master because of the amazingly dangerous rule system.

Astonia (plucking a name out of the air): *cough*

GM: Did your character just cough?

Astonia: Er, yep.

GM: Okay, you know what comes next...roll your percentile dice against the bodily malfunctions table.

Astonia: *rolls*

GM: What did you get?

Astonia: Shit, 99%. This is going to be bad isn\'t it?

GM: Oh yes. Roll again for an outcome...

Astonia: I got 37. What does that do?

GM: Your character coughed so stongly that her heart fell out of her mouth causing immediate death (unsurprisingly).

Astonia: Shit, we only started 3mins ago. Can I roll another character?

GM: Nope, rules is rules and I\'m a jobsworth.

Hahaha...I remember the purple hand! I only vaguely remember the significance, but what I do remember was a whole lot of trouble. Of course.

nah, two of my charachters have died, both of them inside the castle...

Is that the Chaos-strewn Castle o\' Death? If it\'s the same on I\'m thinking of, we barely got out of that one, but we had a merry band of homicidal maniacs (an assassin, a highwayman, and a doctor who specialized in making drugs).

@ rev - Kinda. It was more the bangy-bangy approach. :D Assassin-once-Duelist and a Highwayman running around the castle (and I do mean RUNNING) firing dueling pistols and a blunderbus in rooms whenever we got creeped out. On the plus side, the sound of firearms scared the bejeezus out of a bunch of mutated cats we met.

On the not-so-positive side, we ended up having to physically storm the inner castle after we opened the gates to let the peasant revolt in. All in all, I\'m still VERY surprised that none of us died and my character took no damage during the mayhem. But boy oh boy was it fun!

Oh yeah, those cats! One of them nearly killed me, damn beasts!

Yeah yeah so my character wasn\'t very tough....
