New Spyglass Green

Honestly wasn\'t sure where to post this. I decided not to submit her to the gallery until I can sort out better pics. So I stuck this in general :)

Well, this is it. The first Spyglass sculpture entirely sculpted since I got ill. It wasa fairly uphill struggle as I was well out of practice but I think it ended up looking right. I know a lot of parts were sculpted over and over to get them right. By the end of it I was pretty comfortable with sculpting again.

I\'ve been referring to her to myself as Ingemaris due to her being, design wise, a merging of those two Spyglass figures. Looks like Inge has raided Maris\'s wardrobe and found herself a new staff somewhere...

She\'s 33mm tall which makes her ever so slightly taller than the old Spyglass figures and she\'s a bit chunkier in style which I think gives her a little more presence.

No release date yet as I\'m still not working due to illness. Hoping it wont be too long...

Yeah - glad to hear you\'re on the road to recovery :) Another very nice piece. Your miniatures have a simplicity which I love, not crammed with unnecessary detail but a blank canvas for the painter. Superb.

Great work as usual Steve.
Sorry to hear that you\'ve been ill, I\'ve been a little out of touch lately and had only heard vague rumors... Good luck with the recovery, hopefully you\'ll be back at 100% soon.

really nice mini! you have done a fabulous job on it...

I\'ve got a question off-topic... I\'ve heard that you are sick and on the road of recovery, but what sickness did/do you have?

I hope you get even better, so that you can sculpt better minis! \'cos this is great :D

To be honest, not quite sure what\'s wrong and the docs aren\'t either. At first they said Labyrinthitis (inner ear problem) but that didn\'t respond especially well to treatment and rehab. Then they said anxiety but that didn\'t fit either as, again, I didn\'t respond to the therapy (though I still do that anyway as it\'s good for the additional anxiety caused by being ill long term). Then I was finally checked for brain tumours/neuromas/sinuses etc... All clean there.

The current thinking is possible TMJ disorder which is a problem in the jaw that can have all sorts of knock-on effects and I\'m starting treatment for that. Too early to say if it\'s right or not. They\'re also looking at Spinal Stenosis (where the spine squeezes the nerves).

Not exactly on the road to recovery. I got to a point where I can just about function (and sculpt a mini over three months or so) and I seem now to be stuck at this point.

I\'m bored, ill, depressed and broke.

So no fun...

Very nice Steve, it has all the hallmarks of your usual sculpts very clean and well proportioned and plenty of detail. It also has me wanting one.

Steve;

Sorry to hear about your illness. Hope they figure it out soon and get you on the road to recovery.

That mini is sweet and I\'ll definitely add her to my Spyglass collection when you get her cast.

Hang in there man.

Cheers,
Grumb
