Hi all,

Maris is up. I always found this model to be one of Steve\'s best for Spyglass, but it seems to not have gotten much attention. So here she is!

Truly I like this model a lot. I tried to smoothly paint her up a carmine cloak without having to revert to yellows for highlighting. I like the result of the robe very much. I also like the skintone a lot. Hope you like her:

Very nice Ramon! I love the freehand on the back - it really looks like gold! The only thing that brings this model down slightly is the thickness of the paint. It looks like you need to add a little bit more water to your paints. But the effect of the mini is fantastic! A good 8!

i agree.

I voted 8, but it is not all that far from a 9.

I really like the deceptive simplicity of it. It has such a crisp clean look, but upon further inspection, there are plenty of details.

Nice Job Ramon, I gave it an 8 also, and here are my thoughts.

The blacks are awesome, the corset and skirt, while both black, due to your painting style definately look to be made of different materials, which is hard to do! The skirt is really striking as well with your freehand.

The drawbacks I see, and what would bump it up to a 9 for me would be first to touch up the skin tones, it definately looks like the paints were a touch thick and not blended as well as the blacks. Also the red cloak could use a bit more depth, shadows mostly I think. And finally while your nmm gold looks great the nmm silver of the sword could use a bit more attention I think.

Overall however a great piece, very nice composition and color choices.

Look forward to seeing your next piece!

Thanks guys!

You are very right! I have only just realised that my paints *are* too thick. Maybe because I have become lazy over time and don\'t thin \'em as much as I used to. Maybe because the paints I (still) use are all very old (some up to 15 years!!).....

My black paint is reasonably new for that matter. Hmmmz

Anyway, the layers are thick here and there...

Thanks, I will condition myself again.
