New Star Wars Movie

Nope it´s not a joke :)

Let me quote the official page:

\"The newest tale of adventure, intrigue and excitement in a galaxy far, far away combines the legendary storytelling of Lucasfilm and the Star Wars Saga with a signature animation style from Lucasfilm Animation.

On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin\'s padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains -- led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous -- are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars tells an all-new story that leads directly in to this fall\'s premiere of a weekly, animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series on Cartoon Network, followed by airings on TNT.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens in movie theaters Aug. 15.\"

I really liked the Clone Wars cartoon- I hope that they didn´t screw this one up...

Anakin got made a knight so that he could have a padawan?

I don\'t remember that happening before he became Vader.

I think they already screwed it up.

He got made a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars, that´s why he can have a Padawan :)
Althought I always thought that only a Jedi Master may have a pupil.

I don´t think that they could skrew this one more up then the other prequel episodes...

OK, other than Padme dieing at the birth of the children rather than a few years later (as hinted at in Return of the Jedi) what did they screw up so badly? Seemed to be about what I had expected with not to many screw-ups.

\"When I first met your father, he was already a great fighter pilot.\" - Ben Kenobi

\"Let\'s try spinning. That\'s a good trick, right?\" -Anakin

The implication, or perhaps my inference, was that Anakin was around Luke\'s age
when Ben Kenobi met him. That he\'d already proved himself in some kind of
battle, presumably just before the clone wars got going.

Maybe it will not be that bad...
As I said before the Clone Wars cartoon is pretty nice...

Although I´m not a big fan of the prequels there are many odd things about the original triology.

I hate no sentence as bad as:

\"Chewie! Give me the hydrospin...\"

I always wondered why the X and Y-Wings were able to pierce the
Deathstar´s shields...
I think that we just got used to these things... and were much younger when saw the movies for the first time.
But nothin can beat the sillyness of Jar Jar Bings, Mediclorians(?), Anakin havin built 3PO and so many other unnecessary things...

AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Denied!

I got all excited then, but then remembered that George Lucus REALLY needs to hang up his directing shoes! Ivine Kurschner should have directed all of them!!!! (he did \'Empire\')

Oh well...

Iron Man was actually a good movie... one of the rare ones where I feel like I got my money\'s worth (and will be getting the DVD).

Anyway the Clone Wars cartoons were pretty good, I hope this one is similar. The movie poster makes me wonder about the animation style... same as the cartoons or glammed up a bit?

I just watched the trailer. :)
The characters are cartoony but the environment, the vehicles and stuff look pretty realistic.

Maybe we are lucky and Mr. Lucas wasn´t that much involved...
He really is not a very good director... although American Grafitti is nice.
But the man deserves a good spanking for beeing such a dork and making up this mediclorian shit and Anaking beeing consieved by the force itself... and Padme not gettting older... ???

I just try to imagine how the other episodes would look like if Kerschner really had done all of them...

I smehow don`t include the prequle episodes into my \"personal\" Star Wars canon and regard them more like Highlander 2...

In my book there is the classic triology, Timothy Zahn´s Thrawn novels, The Courtship of Princess Leia and the Rogue Squadron series and the Tie-Fighter game... and maybe Clone Wars^^

I\'m confused.

There was a Highlander 2?

Didn\'t everyone that supposedly worked on it sign some kind of document that completely disavowed its existance? Aren\'t we all supposed to abide by this same pact?

Oops. I just broke it, myself, by mentioning that there had to be a pact.

Now I have to find my cyanide pills.

\"Jar-Jar makes the Ewoks look like...*******... Shaft!\"

It comes to something when fan made films are better than the official products.

This was announced last year, and I have been looking forward to it since.

In my opinion even bad Star Wars is better then no Star Wars and even bad Star Wars is better then pretty much any other Sci-Fi Fantasy movies out there. Even if there were many issues with eps 1-3 I still had a good time watching them.

Get it right: Anakin was concieved by Palpatine, why else would he have that whole story about Darth Plagueis and how he could create life (and how he taught his aprentice everything). I still can\'t excuse the whole midichlorians though, I will never understand the need to de-mystify the force, especially in such a rediculous way.

Enter Grain of Salt moment: When Obi Wan was made a Jedi Knight, he took Anakin as his padawan, thus...

EDIT: Also let me add the words \"More product licensing\" - Can you imagine making a video game that looks exactly like its movie basis?

@Gilvan:
It´s not that hard for the bad Star Wars movies to beat mostof the other Sci Fi stuff... and there are many people claiming that the genre is dead. Good thing that some assholes still are making movies like \"Ridick\" or \"Star Trek Nemesis\" to prove that the genre is well alive but somehow stinks like a rotten monkey´s arse...
