I'd grab any of the extra characters that might interest you or your friends who will play the game. The optional characters are (so far) all kickstarter exclusives which means you can only get them through this offer. Yes, some people will sell theirs on ebay later, but they will most likely be expensive and hard to get. Which ones and how many to get are up to you. Between the three boxes you'll have plenty of characters to choose from, but the optional characters tend to reference specific movie or tv characters and that can be more fun. If you're trying to limit what you spend, focus on the characters.

As for extra tiles, between the 2 games and the expansion you'll already have a lot of tiles. The same goes for extra zombies... though Walk of the Dead does change the style of the game a bit. The extra tiles and zombies should be available later so if you decide you need them you can always pick them up then. The special dice look neat but don't change the game.

You might want to consider the extra dog companions. I believe you get 3 already, but if you're playing with 6 people and everyone wants one you might get into some arguments. Again, these should be available after the kickstarter so you can add them later.

Hey Havolice, it really depends on what you think is a priority;

- If you want to have many survivors, grabbing the optionals (Lea, Fred, etc..) is a good idea. If you're a completionist, having them all will be hard though, as there were KS exclusives during the first season and those are quite pricey
- The BoZs (or boxes of zombies) add zombies to your horde, but your 225 pledge you're already looking at over 200 minis, that is more than enough.
- I would avoid extra tiles, unless maybe the TCM tiles if you want to make a big mall. You're only getting 4 tiles in the TCM expansion so it's only the real tile pack I would get.
- Dices and the likes, that's up to you. I personally don't care, and we're getting sets for free anyway!
- You're already getting a box of dog companions and a box of zombie dogz so you can forget about those too, unless you want your game to have a ton of dogs for some reason.

Makes sense. I'd still focus on survivors though. With the 2 games and the expansion you're already going to have plenty of zombies and tiles. I'd only suggest adding more of those if you have a certain theme you really want to try. For example, if you really like the mall idea then extra mall tiles would allow you to create some more interesting scenarios. Or if you want to make a huge complex prison, then add more of those tiles. But you're getting plenty of general tiles with your pledge so you should have a lots of options without the extras. It's more about your interests and what sounds fun to you. If you want more tiles, more zombies, more dogs then go for it. You just don't need them. Besides, by the time you get bored with all the options in these boxes I'm sure they will already have season 3 on it's way.

Lots of good advice here, but I'll just chime too. If money is no object then I would say the best bet is to pledge Raise the Dead ($210 + $45 Shipping) to get all 3 sets (Season 1 & 2, plus TCM expansion), as you planned, then purchase every optional survivor, Dakota, Fred, Lea, and Rick, and Adriana ($10 each, or $50 total). This will give you the full experience.

Now, as Bailey03 mentioned, if you want to create your own scenario's then buying an extra set of TCM tiles is a good idea, because this way you can play both sides of every tile, 4 one side, 4 the other to create a larger mall. I've been considering doing the same, but I'm more likely to go with the scenarios created by GG or other players, and those only use the base tile sets so you don't need/use extra tiles to play them.

I seriously doubt you'll need to buy more dog companions, as the stretch goal already gives us 6 dogs (2 of each type) for free. That's a lot of dogs, and considering the melee bonus they grant survivors, you may not want a player getting 4 bulldogs... I'm just sayin'.

As for the BoZs... that's up to you. They'll use the new models (introduced in the Kickstarter) and come with new zombie spawn cards. For me, I run games using my Season 1 box set which came with 1/3 more zombie miniatures and I have run out during some crazy ones that reach Red Level. The rules state zombies you cannot place all get an extra action... so if you don't want that (more than 50% of "failed" games I played in were caused by zombies getting extra actions) then getting more zombie miniatures would reduce this possibility. Your call, your money.

i was in for season 1 and went the full gamut extra tiles all options, the whole bit and it was fairly expensive, but opening the box was awesome. season 2 on the other hand, i'll skip things such as extra dice but am picking up on all exclusives and extra tiles. the idea for an apocolypse style game is fairly enticing. and i agree with mobius on the more zombies issue

Shipping fees? Are you outside the US? What you buy and how much you spend are different for non-US backers, but, generally, the shipping fees for the higher pledge levels make purchasing them worth it.

I *have* read that customs fees are another expense you should consider. Unfortunately, you will pay more in customs fees for one large shipment, rather than breaking it down to smaller ones.

Start asking on the KS Comments forum, and start a new thread for international backers to discuss these issues!

Good to hear it.

If you're looking for the best price, first shop around for the best price on the base game. In the states, it's Amazon, which sells the game for $70. If you cannot get the base game at this price, Raise the Dead is your best bet. You still pay MSRP for the Toxic City Mall expansion set ($50), but the base game will be $70. If you can get the base game for $70 or less, Inmate is the best level. You get most of the free stretch goals (except the Skull first player token, which is not an exclusive so will be available later). You don't get the base game or TCM (or smaller boxed sets), but will buy them from the store that you shopped around for, presumably at the same discount as the base game. Since I'm not interested in buying promos (yet!), I'm taking this option.

If you have money to burn, buy the options. AFAIK, no character stats have been released. There will be MANY more S2 promos available than S1 after the KS, so, if you're speculating, don't expect the same returns from S2 as S1. Maybe. Many of the Survivor promos are based on television and movie characters, so, again, if you're speculating, buy characters that will be popular later.

EDIT: Amazon is now a few bucks more expensive!

if i havent season 1, i will pledge for season 2 and all exclusive figures (as others said they are difficult to get later) other addon as dice, BOZs or extra titles are not neccessary to enjoy the game and you can buy later. With prison Outbreak you dont need Season 1 either, you can get and proxy the S1 characters.
So get the season2 and if you like the game(which is really funny indeed), get the rest.
