The two latest tutorials at Necrotales.com take a slightly different focus than previous tutorials. Most experienced painters are likely already familiar with this gemstone painting process, but it never hurts to have a refresher -- and the last step with gemstone variants might prove inspirational all the same.

Nice one Kep - great tutorials as usual. I have a feeling I\'ll be referring back to these for a while to come, I\'m still using your vegetation tutorial I really like the way you set out your website and explain everything so clearly and in steps. Well done that man!

It\'s great, but the problem I\'ve been having with gemstones is irregular shapes. High elves always have heart-shaped gem stones, and my space marines have funky oblong gemstones.

That\'s a good point, vincegamer. Luckily that flip-book format is pretty easy to add extra steps... think I have room for five more steps on that particular one. I\'ll have to remember to photograph some odd shaped gems in progress next time I come across them.

Cheers Kep. Loads of good info on your site. Already tryin\' to mimic your reds, but on a 54mm fig with a really flowing cape, it\'s not turning out quite as nice as I was hoping heh.
