I quite smoking cold turkey and it\'s been almost 7 years since i had my last cig. My tip, stay the hell away from anything living for the first month. i was the most hateful and mean spirited arse you saw that first month.

As to resolutions... bah, why kid myself. No wait, i\'ll try to have male PMS less this year.

I thought this was your home ;)

Ok, you silly English Person -

I hope to be back in Texas before May - or to put it another way, I hope to be the hell out of the sandbox and home with Kyrra before her birthday.

I was talking to someone and they mentioned possibly ressurecting this thread, just to see how people were doing with their New Year\'s resolutions. So, here\'s where I am with mine:

Resolutions:
1) Get my butt back into the gym. I got lazy in the last few months and I\'ve started to turn a bit soft again. I\'ve actually managed to lose some weight. Not a great deal of it, but I\'m working on it.
2) Find a day job. Tired of working nights and not getting to spend time with my daughter. Done! I moved into the Circulation Department at the newspaper I was working at.
3) At least entertain the idea of dating again. Not saying that I\'ll actually date anyone, but I\'ll at least think about it. Done! And it\'s more than just thinking about dating because I\'ve met someone really great and we\'re dating now.
4) Improve my painting skills and enter at least two painting contests. Not sure about the \"improve\" part, but I did enter Wyrd\'s Femme Fatale contest (didn\'t place) and I\'ll probably enter Wyrd\'s Total Testosterone and I\'ll definitely enter their Iron Painter contest. I\'ll also be entering something at GenCon.

So, all in all, I\'ve managed to keep my resolutions.

How are all you doing with yours?

Way to go, Hinton. New Year thingies always fill me with dread, since I am so afraid of failing.

3 - sort out my shit - not done, in fact, it\'s only worse now
4 - sort out my shit for brains - resignedly impossible
Though it was not on my list, I\'d like to report that I have stopped smoking. Been off the weed for a month now, and I never expected it to be so easy. All that was stopping me was fear of failure. Curiously, I\'ve enjoyed hanging out with the smokers... one can see their envy when I tell them I quit. :) How\'s it going with the other smokers wanting to quit?

Well I just decided to quit, funny thing is, I was a very occasional smoker, smoked a pack every 2 months or somthing like that, and never had the urge to smok, I usually smoked when I was in parties and such.
And now that I\'ve decided to quit I feel like smoking, wird huh :p I can\'t even remember why I stoped :p We\'ll see if I make it though the next party without smoking :D

And my only new year resolution was to get into a good buisness school this year, exams have been taken and resuklts are due for the 15 of june so still waiting on that :D

I know what you mean. The weight thing had me concerned, but I knew I needed to do it for my health.

At least you got a couple done already. You have a few months to go before the year is over, so you can still get the other two done.

Meh. I can go a couple of days without one, but there always seems to be something that just aggravates me to no fricking end and I give in. Been trying the nicotine gum and it seems to do ok for the most part, but if I get really stressed out or frustrated, then I start again. I am going to quit before the year is out. In fact, I\'ll quit before GenCon rolls around.
