Newbie Question

Okay, now maybe I am not such a newbie as I have been on this site for a while, but I was paging through my new white dwarf yesterday, and they have a whole showcase of 2003 Demon winners. This got me wondering. Who out of the demon winners frequent the forums and what are their nicks?

And not just the demon winners, I know there are great painters on here who do the occasional things for White Dwarf and I was wondering who those are as well?

well, normally i\'d leave it up to the painters to volunteer themselves...but as it is, this painter has inspired me with her use of inks, so i\'ll volunteer her:

tammy hayes, under the nick t_haye2

(please don\'t kill me :p)

I\'m not just interested in the Golden Demon winners. I am also interested to find out who has done work that has been featured in the WD.

For Example I know Dragonsreach did a few things, the ones that come to mind are the Chaos warriors regiment and the Colour schemes for the Sisters of Battle.

It would just be nice to be able to put a personality with the models that I admire.

Tammy has never won anything at GD I think :/

I haven\'t seen that WD but I think I can name a few demon winners..

goatman, cyril, allan c, joe hill 1, mercenary ogryn, BOBBY WONG, haley, crombad, fredy, bragon, pega, keshley .

Just the first ones that popped up in my head:innocent:

Now, I swear somebody mentioned B. Wong and i answered to that. But now all mention of him in the previous post is gone and it looks like i\'m answering something that wasn\'t there! ?????????

I am indeed a demon winner (9 trophies at last count :D ).

Also, check out Nejoho. That\'s Neil Hodgeson, former head of the Eavy Metal team and the first guy to do NMM on a mini (to my knowledge) way back when in White Dwarf.

Also StefanDarlan is another nick to check. Stefan has won a good number of demons.

I went to my first Games Day this year and picked up a trophy, had the minis put in White Dwarf, etc. In general, though, I don\'t really advertise it except on my eBay auctions in the vain hopes it increases the bid amounts. ;)

I\'m hooked, though, so I will probably go to Baltimore next year. Never really done a display piece before; the figures from my GD entry I now use in my D&D campaign. It\'ll be interesting to see what happens when I actually try my hand at something I\'d consider display quality. I don\'t even know if I\'d have the patience for it.

I got one trophy and a pic in Aus WD.
One of my friends who is a staffer didn\'t think the competition was very fierce in that category though, so this year I\'m entering the more hotly contested categories, 40K single, Warhammer single and 40K large, (well if I can get any painting done I will be...) we\'ll see how I do, but with the likes of Victoria about I\'m not too keen on my chances...

There are loads of winners here, Alezi_Z got gold at Russian GD,
Numbat and Johnny KS at Aus GD, IIRC
Jacob Nielson and Joe Hill pop in every so often.

I thought it was Mike McVey that first used NMM on Dante from the blood Angels way back in WD 133 (or thereabouts...)

I got silver for a barrow wight, its really not my best work, the pic in WD is way too dark.
I really want to place this year, to prove it wasn\'t a fluke, but the painting is going very badly so far
