Nice to meet ya

Hello there. It\'s nice to see a mini community. I\'ve been painting since the only company worth buying from was Ral Partha. There are so many good miniatures now that I can hardly believe it. We didn\'t even have spray primer back in the day. Actually, I don\'t use spray primer now. It sucks. Who Knows where I can get some decent black brush-on primer? Later & don\'t let your meat loaf.

Hey Naughty, I was gonna give you the requisite \"get ready for some craziness, hope ya fit in\" speech, but I thought I\'d let the forums speak for themselves....

I would actually sya use spray primer, it\'s better!!!But, since you sound like you really don\'t like it, i would use black acrylic artists gesso, the non-textured kind. It\'s better than using nornal black paint.

And welcome, to without a doubt, the craziest mini forum online, and also the most off topic one...giggle...we mad us....

I\'m certainly not nuts. Could be that I\'m the only sane person here. It\'s just that nobody\'s gonna believe that. :innocent:

Have fun anyway!

Thanks ya\'ll. I like the Ral Partha brush on black primer, but I\'m running out of that. I also have a display bottle of rust colored Polly S primer (from like 1785 it seems) that I used when I first started painting. The reason I like brush on primer is that I can water it down and be sure that I get all the nooks & crannies of the figure. You can fudge a little bit if the base coat is black, it saves some applications. With the spray primer it seems too easy to fill in areas like chainmail and lose detail. Sadly, most companies only make spray primer these days.

Welcome you naughty bear, and remember that in these forums the level of sanity is halved with each star you see next to a name ...

Thank ya\'ll. Yes, It\'s Mr. Bear, but they all just call me Bear. Sadly, I don\'t think they make the black primer anymore. Can\'t write anymore, my brain is deadened by playing City of Heroes all day. So good...
