Personally Cadian, I think you\'re trying to go too fast, slow down a little and take more time over things, What you\'ve got is a good start, I actually like the brown in the battle damage, looks kinda rusty.

seems rough, take yer time, be patient and make sure you get the paint where it should be, if its on the wrong place, don\'t just \"Heh, it\'ll take too much time cleaning that up\", but do neaten it up and you\'ll see the mini looks much better (yes, Im talking abaout the eyes, and I know theyre small)
Also, get a spray for undercoating and make sure you cover the entire mini, now, 50% of the crevasses aint covered, makes it look rushed and... well... rushed

Do a wash with black after the spray undercoat.

Your attempting some cool techniques like the battle damage, layering and gold SENMM! You should be proud that you have the guts to just go ahead and try it but \'running before you can walk springs to mind\'.
One thing i can advise is that you work more on trying to be neat and tidy. A simple, clean painted mini would have a greater impact. Once you can do this then go ahead and pimp it up
I can also see that you are very eager to try out all the cool stuff. You obivously have a grasp of how the techniques that you have used work its just a case of making sure the basics are solid before moving on to the advanced stuff imho. Keep it up

I really like the nid hunter models, if only they where plastic lol,
The battle damage is cool a tiny bit ott (Just Opinion) smaller and fewer i think might look better, but good start.

Agree with what all have said particularly Darkart...just take your time and nail the higher basics before trying too many cool stuff bits..
The chips look great asides from the placing and show you can paint well and control your brush..
Concentrate on getting a nice even covering with your basecoats and keep it clean.Avoid absolutely any undercoat showing through and highlight up smoothly.work on this side of things then apply those techniques and away you go....

To me it seems you are rushing your paintjob somehow, trying to get into extensive freehand work, while the base is not up to a great standard yet. Try first to clearly define your areas, work them, and once done, in a clean way, with a convincing result, you can start weathering.
For example the gun, the red part, hasn\'t been highlited and shaded enough, and yet you tried to do freehand on it. Other example, the right arm hasn\'t been cleanly worked.
Take your time, slow down your paints a bit more, one you got smooth blendings, with a coherent miniature that could be the finished product you can start weathering.

Its blatantly obvious when you closely at the mini that you have talent (the nmm, blending on the armour, battle damage) but the rest of the model looks just...rushed....really rushed.
Its like everyones saying, slow down, get all the base down (clean lines, full basecoat cover, thin paint etc) and then make it look fancy. I\'m painting my Emperors Champion at the moment, and I\'m getting him up to the standard of my basic troops, then NMMing him to kingdom come, with as much freehand as possible...its alot easier to touch up basic flaws when its still at the basic stage than work around hours worth of freehand you dont want to ruin.
