Hello everybody, my latest creation is finished :D He\'s one of the wicked new Night Goblin heroes, had him WIP for a while due to end of semester papers and finals and whatnot... finally said screw you English 339 and finished him up last night :cool:

He\'ll be going up for auction probably by the end of the day, as soon as I figure out how MissionFish works for charity auctions. I\'m also thinking that 10% of my other holiday mini auctions should go to Child\'s Play as well. So you\'re buying toys for kids when you buy minis for yourself from me this year :innocent:

As I mentioned in the WIP thread and the mini description, I leaned heavily on the Jakob Neilsen style Goblins for this guy. I took some liberties, mainly on the style of black cloth, but his ideas for skintones and metallics are great. That guy\'s truly inspirational.

Did I ever post what they were?

-Scorched Brown shade (can only see it in a couple super deep cracks like the ears)
-Scorched Brown / Dark Angels Green / Goblin Green basecoat
-mix some Goblin into the above for hilights
-mix some Rotting Flesh into the above for hilights
-pure Rotting Flesh on a few key areas

Looks like rubbish without the pure Rotting Flesh, just a warning!

For the nose, hilight it brighter than anywhere else and then glaze with very watered down Red/Purple Ink mix.

The above was slightly modified from a discussion I had with Mr. Neilsen himself :D

Supercool paintjob - and that model just looks like he is begging to be painted. I gotta get my hands on some of these new gobbos...
I really like the skintone - a very nice way of taking my old skin tecknique further. Top job!

Some heavily thinned down Tamiya Clear Orange. Didn\'t do black or brown inks like on the rest of the armor, which looked dirtier/older than the swords.

You\'ve been reading all the tutorials on Jakob\'s site then. The Tamiya Clear colours are great on metallics.

Despite this I think they are the weaker point of the model. They aren\'t bad, they just aren\'t quite as precise as the skin (which is absolute quality) and the black.

I love the model itself too. Bags of character. Meant to paint mine ages ago.
