Nightbringer- NEED HELP!!

Excuse the big shouting topic sentence but his is ergent! I\'ve tried to paint nightbringer for the past 5 months now and I got the base looking good but his body is just too smooth and there are so many tiny areas I cannot do NMM in! I tried do metallics, but I can\'t paint metallics too well. I\'m tired of failing again and again, this will be the 4th time I\'ve had to strip and try to prime again. I think the problem might be I primed black, and I\'m used to white, but I did all the scarabs in NMM and they were primed black, and they look fine!
PLEASE help me here, I am within an inch of beating the metal to a pulp and throwing it out!!

I primed mine Black (being lazy) and worked up through mix of Black/Boltgun metal through to a silver ink with washes of blue inks. Hadn\'t go the guts to try NMM on something that scale.
I know what it\'s like trying to break the bad JUJU on a mini Sevrina & Sevora are still sat on my WIP tray for the 2nd Year running. Guess they\'re going to have to go in the Dip!

I\'ve seen some good results from doing an almost gem like look, with little white bits like on a gem at the top of areas..it\'s hard to explain, but it looks great!
