I think it would be very difficult to highlight every individual link, so overbrushing how the light would hit the object as a whole would be your best bet i\'d think, however it depends on the chainmail itself, i currently painted some brettonian men at arms in nmm and the links of mail on them were large enough to be highlighted individually, the problem with this though is that it that it takes a looong time.

The way I approach NMM on chainmail is to paint it in the same manner as highlighting folds of cloth.

Welcome to the forums!

When I do nmm chainmail I do much like Dragonsreach, treat it like cloth. Shade and highlight everything like I would do a cloak for instance, but being careful not to get the grey paint run into the holes (I start with painting the entire mail black unless it\'s primed black). I apply the more extreme highlights by overbrushing. I end by overbrushing thin lines of pure white on the very uppermost ridges of the folds in the mail. Hope this helps! :)

BTW, where in Sweden are you living?

I\'ll send you a PM, so we\'ll not bore the rest of the forum members with boring stuff in Swedish! ;)

Its kinds weird cause I am not a big fan of metalic paints, but I still love the way dry brushed metalics (of different shades) look over black primed chainmail.
