Well, I\'m crap at NMM, but a look at some of Alexi Z\'s stuff might help to inspire you...

On the other hand, it just scares me so maybe that\'s not much help :D

Welcome to the forums by the way!

I just did a search from the main CMoN page on \"axe\" and came up with pages and pages; not all are NMM, not all are that good... but I highly recommend doing the same and checking some out for yourself. Here are some examples I found:

Could you please write in full words. This is an international site with a lot of talented people. If they can\'t understand you, they won\'t be able to help you.

well, to start off, NMM is not for N00bs as you so quaintly put it. i would suggest learning other techniques before learning. mini painting is like math, start simple and your skills will build on eachother. Also, there really is no easy way to paint it. for decent nmm, it takes about 6 to 8 hours. so NMM is not for the faint of heart. sorry if this sounds like a put down

Utter cobblers. NMM is as simple as any other part of a miniature if you can blend reasonably well. You just need to use a bit of reference to get the highlights in the right place.

And how are you able to quantify how long it takes? Depends on how fast you paint and how many metal bits are on the miniature! If you don\'t practice something, how do you expect to good at it?

Go for it I say! A good start is Shadow Grey as a base colour, Space Wolf Grey as a highlight and black or Midnight Blue to shade.

If you haven\'t done it already..check out Arjay\'s gallery. One of, if not the king of SENMM.

NMM is one of those things that youve gotta jus dive in and do, your always gunna start rubbish at it but with abit of pratice youll be as good at the next man. 6-8 hours for an axe divvnt be silly! i can do a sword in 45mins!
