NMM on details?

I\'m having some problems with painting NMM on small details like rings, nuts \'n nails. Cos\' everytime I put on some dark grey highlighted nicely up to white with an upper lightsource, but because of the tinyness of the highlights you mostly end up white looking an\' not NMM...they sometimes just even look like big maggots!
Please..how could I solve this? Or could I just use MM to paint the things...???

It possible, definitely... like other small details you need a very fine brush and a steady hand.

Actually I used NMM on a very small detail of my Templier Du Griffon (picture below): the golden pins on the knuckles (best visible on the mini\'s right hand, the back shot) are also painted using NMM. Just basecoated with Vallejo\'s golden yellow, a darker drop of paint on the lower part of the pin, and a lighter drop on the top part. Like I said, all you need is a steady hand :D

Anyway here\'s the pic:

Nah, mostly an\' bad brush an\' hand is not the problem, cos\' I can paint, I think...but maybe the faulty part is the way I highlight, I Highlight with strokes(an\' so covering a larger area) an\' not with \'\'dots\'\', maybe this will work, thanks.

Yes, brushing on these small spots can be hard.

Just take a decent amount of paint on your brush and carefully touch the detail you want to highlight.

Good luck.
