Ok, so i\'m an intermediate painter and want to start painting NMM. However i haven\'t got a clue what colours i should be using.

Really i would like to only use GW paints for both Gold & Silver.

If anyone can give me some advise would be greatly appreciated. Oh, i have looked at the article sections but no real set in stone in method using GW paints.

Thanks everyone!!

Theres a great colour guide on this site: http://www.thminiatures.com/

And you can translate the colours with this chart: http://home.att.net/%7Ekatamaran/vallejo.html

I would recommend looking at other pieces which have a similar style iv just painted NMM for the first ever time on this piece: http://www.coolminiornot.com/145445 and apparently it looks amazing, but all i did was \'copy\' another piece.

You can use Snakebite Leather, Vomit Brown and Bleached Bone as the basis for gold.
Use Bestial Brown with Scorched Brown for Shadow Washes and a very dilute Catachan Green as a glaze to age the gold
Use Skull white for the Flare Highlight.

For Silver I\'d suggest SpaceWolves Grey & Skull White as your staring point, adding more Skull White for each Highlight and use pure Space Wolves Grey as your Shadow wash. Again end your Flare Highlight with Skull white.

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone!!

I think you should take the shadows much further to create good contrast with the bright highlights. Mix the SW Grey with black and take the shadows real deep in the most shaded areas.

Also, don\'t forget that NMM relies on a specific direction of light. So, you need to decide where the light comes from that is being reflected on the metallic areas and paint your shadows and highlights coherently with regards to this light source.
