A ton of people are interested in NMM these days, myself included. The hardest part though, to get started, is deciding on the pallette. What brands of paints and what recipes are people using to create it (white metals in particular: steel, iron, etc) ? I\'ve seen GW Shadow Gray used as the darkest and then highlighted up with white. Also there was an article that listed a 4-5 different Vallejo colors mixed into each other one after another.
Personally I\'ve tried both and then both followed by a gloss varnish to an OK effect. Does anybody use ink at any stage of this process? Blue? thinned black? a mix?
What else are people using? Doesn\'t it also seem that many NMM models, even one with very good scores, just look like highlighted gray? (in other words because armor and blades are painted and highlighted gray the eye is \"fooled\" into reading it as metal) I\'ve liked most of these but they don\'t look metallic necessarily and yet there are others that truly look like metal like the shield on Goatman\'s Highelv Princess.
If some of the more successful users of NMM could jot down the recipe for various parts of their models I\'m sure I wouldn\'t be the only one who is appreciative. Thanks in advance . . .!
