everyone talking about nmm ... whats that mean?

metal without using metal colors? how is it done?

most of my minis just have boltgun metal bolters with slight black drybrush and highlighting for effect, but since my army is over 150 minis i cant do it for all of them with lots n lots of detail :)
but i would like my new emperors champion to stick out ... which is why i am asking here.

basically is there a tutorial somwhere? what do i need to do? help?

NMM stands for Non-metallic metal and indeed there is a tutorial by our one and only Chrispy (take a bow matey!). Just look here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/go.php?go=articlephp&aid=54&orderby=date&levels=99

I\'ve never tried it myself cos I don\'t have any confidence that I will do it any justice, but their are some beautifully painted figures with NMM on this site (just as their are beautiful figures with metallic paint).

Hope that helps,

Shaz

Well, basically you could say that NMM is what painter do to represent metal... hem, when I talk about painters I mean guys who paint for a living (or for \"art\").

exemple:
http://members.tripod.com/~warriorpoets/images/equipement.gif

It looks like metal, it sounds like metal, it tastes like metal, but it\'s grey and white...

Pretty much everything that was said above, but Boubou, you\'re image doesn\'t work (I\'ve had tripod before and that\'s why I hate it!!)

Why don\'t you just ask nice, send the appropriate amount, and....

I would ask very nice...

But I understand PS2 games are like DVDs and are regionally coded. An American disc wouldn\'t work on my UK PS2 unles it was \'chipped\'. Chipping invalidates my warranty, costs a few bob, and, from what I can understand, doesn\'t always work.

I have invested in a multi-region DVD player so that I can benefit from early USA releases (and prices) of movies but the PS still remains a problem. I s\'pose I could buy an American one and a converter to adapt the voltage, but as I am not unduly blessed with sparetime, it is not really such a hardship to wait I s\'pose...At least that\'s what I keep telling myself:D

If they all sound like Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins I will be asking for my money back.:D

The only advantage of being last in the queue is that they have normally ironed out any glitches and often added a few extras - normally a couple of residual monsters, non-essential to the plot, and so rock-hard that people dedicate their life to defeating them :D

Oh, you\'d better hope so, there\'s this monster in the Desert that\'s almost as hard as the final boss.. luckily he only has a main body and 2 helpers, no last second transformations like every other Square game! Sheesh, what did Sephiroth have, like 4 forms?!?! :p

Haha killing Sephiroth was soooo time consuming, I just had to give up, I was so bored by his Nova incantation, the animation would last something like 2 minutes, it was soooo slow !

(Do I need to say I didn\'t have the courage to try to beat the underwater huge guy ?)

I am very anally retentive when I play Final Fantasy. Usually when I get to the end it\'s a bit of an anticlimax because my character is maxxed out and defeats the end boss pretty casually. There is always a couple of others in recent games who you can tackle after the final Boss as \'Sport\' that just vapourise my character on sight however.
You have to be very dedicated and have a lot of spare time on your hands to clean up completely.
