For future reference, I\'m not sure what its like over there in the UK/Ireland but over here in North America the GW Purity Seal is no longer glossy, it is their Matte Varnish with a different label. Additionally, I have had little luck painting over the varnish, the paint seems to not want to bond and often just wipes off.

I have used Simple Green to strip paint from resin where I\'ve needed to, I\'ve really only spot stripped resin (using q-tips), but it seems to only take the paint off. If they don\'t have Simple Green you could try similar products, its just an all-purpose household cleaner. Like was said though, test it on something else first.

Its a shame it destroyed the model, the skirt was looking great and the rest was shaping up nicely

Why Gloss Varnish?
In fact why Varnish at this stage at all?

It seems to me that this application of Gloss may be your problem with paint failing to adhere to the surface.

As for stripping resin, In the UK Dettol works well (I\'ve used it), Pine-Sol in the USA or possib;ly Easy Clean oven cleaner. But as I\'ve not used the latter I can\'t really recommend it.
