drinking a beer?

A dwarf drinking? Never heard of such a thing....

Actually, this is a very cool little mini.

I think you have done a great job on the skin (especially around the forehead areas). The face is the best part of the mini.

The fur cuffs, the beer stein, and the collar need more work. They don\'t have the definition they need to give the mini that special \"pop\"...

Keep at it!

Such is the sorry state that Dwarfs are reduced to only some form of comic relief. I blame Peter Jackson. Dwarf tossing indeed.

Do not remind me, LOTR was one of the racist movies I have ever seen. I mean look at the last one. While Gimli and Legolas had but a few scene. When ever gimli was shown he was drinking or smiking, and when Legolas was shown he was talking out an Oliphant single handed.
As a memeber of the dwarven race i was offended.

Elves ain\'t what they use to be either. I remember when an elf had some meat on their bones. Now it only takes one hack to slice \'em. Then again sliceing ain\'t what it used to be, you used to be able to drink a stein in one hand and hack and slice easily with the other. Beer\'s gotten weaker too, I swear those dern dragons sat on or burned out all the good grog. Now dragons thats not nearly the same II remember when....

Actually, they left out the scene of Legolas talking an Oliphant to death lol

@Dedwrekka: What did i do? Raving loony...

On the subject of Dwarves...

My first Dungeons and Dragons character was a Dwarf. His big problem was an intelligence score of 6. I blame it on being hit in the head by Goblins once too often. Dwarves rule, elves drool!lol

Topic, anyone?

Hey, anyone want to talk about the mini? :)

I\'ve painted this guy myself. I couldn\'t decide if the eyes were supposed to be squinted shut, or open. They looked weird when I tried to paint them as open.

I guess I\'ll strip him and start over. Oh, Naked Dwarfs! What a thought!

You\'re right, back on topic:

I think the eyes look a bit odd... the pupil is supposed to be touching the upper and lower eye lid (the upper a bit more) to create a realistic look, but this isn\'t really the case on this mini.

Also the blacklining should be a bit lighter in some areas, eg around the mouth.

If you actually read Tolkein carefully, you will find that Elves have beards too (not to mention humans). That must have been before the Great Depillatory War of Aught Seven.

Sorry about the hijack...

I didn\'t mean to hijack the thread earlier. I just love a good elves versus dwarves discussion and I couldn\'t resist. He is a good looking mini but as far as a sculpt he just stands there with a beer in his hands. Not good if an Orc comes charging in and good ole Nord cant swing his hammer straight.lol
