Nurgle Dreadnought wip (big pics)

Hi Folks!

This is my first attempt at sculpting and conversion, so please be patient and gentle.

After seeing the Forgeworld Nurgle dreadnought, I decided to convert one from an old and battered dreadnought I had lying about in my bits box.
The model itself still needs a LOT of tidying and green stuff, but that can wait until a little later.

First off, I started by butchering the assault cannon in order to replace it with twin linked heavy bolters.

The heavy bolters started off as the sponsons for a SM predator I think, but I like way it looks on the dreadnought!
I had to do a lot of cutting and filing in order to fit two of them on the arm, but most of the cut lines will be abscured from vision at the end of the project.

I still need to get some guitar wire for the various pipes that I’m planning and I’ll try to get some of the new skeletons from the GW vampire counts range aswell, mostly to be used as decoration.
I will do some more work when I get home tonight, really excited obout trying to sculpt a head for the dread :-}, was thinking about doing a gasmask face maybe?

liking the H-Bolter conversion - though I prefer the FW version myself

For the sarcophagus - why not do the original, but burst open from pressure of gunk inside, and some crap spilling out?

Hi,

Did some more work on the dread, I started working on one of the arms using green stuff, the progress is painfully slow at the mo, because I dont really know what I\'m doing using sculpting tools

I was trying to smooth out the plates as much as I could before adding the boils and bits, hopefully my sculpting skills will improve as the project continueslol

Any feedback will be appreciated, thank you!
The photos are a bit blurry, probably had a little bit too much red wine when they were taken

Very good start, maybe pit the bolter with a craft knife or pin vice to get it looking a bit more decayed.

Thanks Kaine, that will be the next step, planning to cover most of the dread in green stuff, fingers crossed!
