Nurgle Knights

Hey everyone!

These are nurgle knights I painted as a commission for someone. I liked the way they turned out so I thought I would share them. They took about 35 hours to paint.

Very nice paint job in deed, 35 hours for the lot bloody hell, it would probbly take me that long just for one or two of them

I like \'em! They look great, especially for the time. Takes me about 10-12 hours working flat out to paint a single mini to a decent standard.

Yep, awesome paintjob, especially for what for me would be record time. They do have a quite \"cartoonish\" quality to them you don\'t often see on Nurgle minis, but I like them. Kudos!

Back in days of yore, Nurgle warriors were always just \'green.\' There wasn\'t the really dirty paint schemes you see now. It\'s like they\'ve riden out of the 3rd-4th edition of WHFB book.

Excellent work though, super clean highlighting and shading.

I love the old school look on em, at times really miss that style of painting. Looks like eavy metal of a few years back defo.

Great job and a perfect centrepiece for any army imo

old school is not a bad thing...

back in the day guys like mike mcvey and tim prow could make a chaos guy look chaotic as hell, and there was no rust or dirt involved...
everything was clean, bright, colours, but fit into the ideas of the universe...

personally i still love the minis in my white dwarf mags from 15-20 years ago...
top paintjobs are quality no matter how old they are...

keep it up, \'cause these guys stand out from the crowd fo\' sho\'...

green recipe please?

Basecoat: 50/50 catachan green and camo green

shade 1: pure catachan green

shade 2: pure dark angels green

shade 3: dark angels green with a small amount of liche purple

shade 4: previous mix with a little black

highlight 1: catachan green with a little rotting flesh

further highlighting was done with adding more rotting flesh to the previous mix until I was satisfied with the highlights.

Very, very smooth. The banner is the standout of these mini\'s. Great freehand and blending on the banner!

These are great, I imagine whoever commissioned them will be back for more. I really like the clean style. I appreciate the weathered effect on show miniatures but on gaming minis you run the risk of fielding an army that looks awfully drab & doesn\'t reflect the amount of effort that\'s gone into presenting it. These will look suitably threatening from across the table

Fantastic blending too. And just thirty some hours A worthy addition to your commission portfolio.
