Hello hello! After what has been a long hiatus (mainly because i was not able to find my camera re-charger) I\'m back with some WIP stuff, they are soon finished and so i thought it would be nice to see if you have some comments so far! They all need cleaning up and some different things done to them, but the feel is there i hope ! (Sorry for the pretty nasty pics, im hoping to get me one of them lightboxthingies)

First up is the nurgle hero lord thing...

The whole thing is just about painted with red and green, with some slight mixes here and there, almost all of the paintjob is diffrent colour mixes, i used some straight paint like the horses hair is jadegreen and buff i think a combination i think is really pleasant and sickly looking hehe! I think i might do some spots and stuff on the horse, i was thinking something like offwhite. And then i thought of adding some freehand on the trousers.. but i dont know what yet. Maybe just some borders or some skulls perhaps the nurgle icon, but i dont know.

And taking pictures of the metallic was a pain indeed! But i think it went pretty well... Except for the orange/yellow tint it has... well well

next up is the wolfen, the master of carnage to be precise. I also have the old one, which i want to do in a monotone style, but more on that later hehe...

To note that this ones helmet is gonna change, sligthly red i think... And i hope to get a good pic of the freehand doodles on his pads, i think they came out quite nice, but the picture doesnt reveal it properly.

The other note is i used gimp, a program im not entirely comfortable with, but my comp with ps is currently under virus attack...

WELL!! Please, if you feel like commenting with some critisism im open for it! Peace!

i think the nurglelord looks really nice but the pics are a bit bright and make everything look pale...

believe me I know how hard it could be to get some decent photos, geee I also have to find one of those lightbox-thingies...

well sounds like we are in the same boat skelettet!

I think these photos are a bit bettter, but still, pretty horrid, these seem to wash out the red colour in the mini, oh well... Also i was thinking of getting rid of the freaking crow thats on the base, he pretty much sucks and you cant get a decent photo of him, perhaps ill just do a skullhill there or something haha! Also i was going to add more shading to the scythe and also do some cleanups and darklining here and there.

While I can see your point, I think that is perhaps a tad harsh, seeing as that is already well above the average \"tabletop\" standard. But yes, you need to increase the contrast, perhaps, if you\'re not already doing so, take a look at automaton\'s Ujahu article, as it is good for understanding contrast from a thin colour foundation. Also try to imagine a fixed light source, and work the highlights towards that point.

Keep it up,
Squig

Ahh.... well i can see the confusion, The horse is infact not highlighted, the only thing i have done with the horse is tonal changes between red and brown(a mix of carmine red and goblin green) It has some shadows and highlights here and there but nothing major, im working on them right now in fact. The rider has his cloak highlighted but i fear that the shadows was not too deep, so i fixed them but i have to do more. The metallics is done, but i have trouble getting good photos of them, plus the freaking crow is in the way sometimes getting it hard to focus on.

More to come!

Hmm well, havent been able to update in a while, with school and all... I\'m quite tired recently and i cant get really great pictures. And i really suck at gimp so the quality is a bit well... bad. Plus my computer with Photoshop and that stuff is broken, so until its fixed my photo-fu is going to be a bit sucky.

Well onto my nurgledude, i have done some highlightning on the back of the horsy (sorry for the singleshot, ill have to make more later but this was my best effort now, need to get more lamps that dont suck!) aswell as some stuff on the rider giving him a nice border that i intend to do some more with, perhaps go a little crazy i dont know.

and i ripped up the crowthing too... that was fun!

Im thinking of changing the color of the scythe to something more eyecatching, but i dont know really what, it has to blend in, but right now it is quite good except the values but the colour works, but it is just a bit boring. Well anyways comments and critique is always welcomed.

I find the mini much to a character fully, much dürsten and painted by all very cleanly. Up to now very good work!!!!

Heh! A big hip hip to me! Im pleased with how my pictures are turning out, i freaking love photoshop!

Anyways, thought I\'d take a break from the nurgle hero a bit, and do a repaint of my vicar of dirz.

The nmm is about done, just some fiddlin on the flat parts, but the sharp parts are done. The robe is not really complete but thats the color im going for right now, the dirt on the end is a bit too strong i think, i might go over with some more reddish browns, aswell in the shadows.
Im thinking of putting this one on a base with my tiger of dirz ive been working on, more pics of that later, and do a really sweet desert-bionic-waste-something-jungle looking base, with stuff i find in nature. Fall is a great season to get inspiration from. My favourite season really, that and winter, especially northern winters!

Have a good one!

Hi Crayfish, I like that Vicar figure, not one I\'ve seen before, he\'s coming along nicely. What\'s the reason for the repaint? I have one of those mounted Nurgle Lords as well, I actually bought it for the crow! That\'s all painted up & used as a familiar in my D&D game, the Lord meanwhile is sat unloved in his box lol Looking forward to the next batch of pictures, B.
