Aloa,

another bust finished. This guy is called a "Nurok", sculpted by BADSMILE from Berlin. A really cool bust to paint him up:

have to admit to not being a fan of this one Chief...
The sculpt itself is lacking for me so not a lot ca be done with paint to make it look any better (to ME) I'm sure there are those out there that will love it but it don't o anything for me... nothing to complain about on the paint although the spots on the skin markings look a little rough and could maybe do with a bit of tidying ..

anyways always good seeing your stuff and i we all had the same tastes how boring would life be....??

The sculpt is a bit too strange for me. The painting job is good but I think you could have painted with a bit more contrast, especially with the thong on its right shoulder. There are also things that I good like like the beak or the eyes.

Sure you might be right in what you are saying. How boring would life be if we all would have the same tastes. Otherwise you are right, the paintjob on this one is nothing breathtaking or outstanding never seen before - please always be sure that i am aware of my stuff that comes from my workbench and i also look on it in the eyes of others... i am totally fascinated by works of others around, mine seems boring to me very often when i compare it to others... but in the end it really made fun and that is what is important to me, not comparing it to other stuff - there comes the Happieness i was searching for a long time... the joy of paint in itself...

As i did get Mati (BADSMILE) right this one was just a quick idea and wasn't really supposed to be something sculpted for the big marketing way - just sculpted to the fun of it - not the perfect concept maybe, not worked with all its grace and whatever even not painted to abnormal look by me, even i think i never will achieve something which will do so...

The fun was great - the rating doesn't count much to me as i count the joy of a miniature while painting it, not what medals it might win or how the world likes it... phatetic blabla i know, but that has become my way of dealing with my passion of painting...

I am really glad about any comment of you - thanks a lot!

So... you know what i write here - keep on happy painting!

dude, as long as you enjoyed painting it. to clarify, nowt wrong with your painting, for me, its the sculpt that lacks something i mean he had a strap over his shoulder but it seems to serve no purpose. i just feel that some other small details would help. i think painting those spots on helps break it up

did he sculpt some of the yedharro stuff?

nope I did not.

as for the bust...well the only concept behind it is the specimen itself, it's a mock up for the concept artists developing a little something with me right now. we knew how the body would look like at that moment but were still planing how to do the head/face. I did a few drawings that never really pleased me and I quite suck at drawing. I chose to sculpt it directly to give copies to the concept guys. so the only thing important on the sculpt is the face really if you want. the belt and the branding on the chest are just to do....well something, no concept at all really. But as a few people liked it when they saw it I thought OK, I'll take a few more copies. I totally agree that as a bust standing for itself it lacks concept but it serves its purpose well. thanks for the comments !

i like the face alot, I think its a good little sculpt and one that could have been taken further with some serious skin texturing.
