O scale, and other RR scales

I was just wondering what O scale was and how it related to miniatures?

While thinking about that I was wondering exactly what scale would match most 28-30mm models.

The reason I ask is that I was browsing a couple of scenery sites that have interesting bits like vegetable gardens, and tomato plants and wondered if they would be in scale for my D&D games.

this should help:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scale_model_sizes
a shorter list with just the more common ones is here:

Here\'s a nice calculator and a list of scales:

S (1:64) is very close to most D&D terrain 1\" = 5\' or 1:60

but the 32mm heroic scale minis are closer to O scale.

Thank you very much for the info.

Another question. Has anyone used any of the O scale stuff for basing or scenery work?

I\'m looking at the Scenery Express site at things like Goldenrod, Vegetables, Corn Stalks etc. I know some people have done some great stuff with the Silfor tufts, but wondered about the other products.

Gilvan thanks for that link.
Having looked at the products under silfor I\'d say you \"hit a winner\" there. As the Golden rod demo show you can adjust the height to suit almost any scale of figure.

You are very welcome for the link.

I was cleaning out bookmarks when I noticed this site. I\'m guessing I bookmarked it as it sells Silfor tufts and ships to Canada, but I never did buy anything.

I was incredibly impressed by their selection having just \'found\' the site again. Very happy to hear I should be able to use it.

Now if only the NA Auto industry can figure things out so I can get back to work, I will be doing some online shopping.

Looks ace too; I knew railway modellers had a lot of products to pick from but I didn\'t realise the quality had gone up so much!
