based on all the movies I\'ve seen on the subject I guess you could paint them neon blue and call the the \'Aliens\' blood angels\':flip:

I would probably actually vote higher for someone who broke away from the fluff and did something different. Provided the overall scheme \'worked\'.

I agree. If something is original, it often gets a point higher than the same model, at the same painting skill-level, painted exactly like the pictures in the book.

Hmm, that explains alot. I\'ve been wondering why the \"Frankenstein Troll\" has a higher score that a slightly-better but more traditionally green example of exactly the same sculpt.

Originally posted by provoke_mealso..i have recently decided that unbased models get no more than 5...most likely a 4 though..anywho...yeah

What do you consider \"unbased\"? Reaper models have a built-in \"broccoli base.\" While most are rather plain, some are quite nice. So does a nice fig with a built in base automatically get a 5? Seems unfair to me.

No Such Agency:
The term is Fluffers (obscure but rude).
In the UK that term generally refers to the Pre-teen Brittany Spears clones seen hanging around shopping malls. Think Barbie with a lowered IQ. :D;)

Yet another exampe of why Americans and the British are two people divided by a common language. If you were to call such a girl a \"fluffer\" in the US you could get arrested.

I was wondering if anyone would give a bad score to a mini that was painted against what the norm of it was. Say something like purple ork skin, or majorly contrasting colors on a mini.
To answer the question as asked, yes, someone would.
But others would have the opposite reaction. And I think those are the ones you should care about. For example, I have gotten nothing but positive feedback about my high elves and they are as far from the fluff as I could get. I just got around to \"grassing\" the bases today and holding them I realize they aren\'t particularly well done, so my score must be based on the scheme.
(better get back to the blunt-thrower)
