Odd question about Vallejo Slow Dry

This question may seem strange, but...does anyone know a way to speed up drying time when using Vallejo slow Dry? you may say \"don\'t use it!\" and I would, if I knew another good gel medium. I mostly use it because of its consistence more than as a drying retarder. Unfortunately, it takes days to dry completely. So, anyone knows a way (by some medium, heat esposure or something else) to accelerate the drying process without changing the SD proportion in the mix with other mediums/paints?Or can anyone suggest a brand of gel medium which dries faster?

I have no problems using it. Maybe you can use a hair dryer to speed things up?

hairdryers are a must when speed is needed. i need to use one otherwise i wait for ages for paint to dry. (and that\'s without anything added, just water and paint.)

I\'ll definitely try the hair drier way. But do I have to heat the mini just before or after having applied the retarder?

you use the hair dryer to dry what you just painted, so you can continiue to paint without waiting for it to dry on it\'s own

One way I find really usefulwhen I want to speed up is to sit the model under a desk top lamp 60W with a bendable neck that I have at the side of my desk.
You can do this before painting to warm the mini up. Then place the mini under the lamp between stages.
I find it better than a hirdryer easier to use and doesn\'t blow thinner paints where you don\'t want them.

I think that the hair drier could blow away my massive washes, maybe the desk lamp is more indicated for my situation.

most mini painters avoid the gel mediums as they magnify brushstrokes and cause lots of other problems.

If you are looking to sculp paint, why not use Golden Matt Medium or a similar product.

If you are looking to actually retard the drying/curing process, I\'d use a thin bodied retarder like W&N or golden (not the gel).

Experimenting, I\'ve discovered a new way to use Slow dry, I called it \"sbobba tecnique\". Mixing it with other products, I obtain perfect (but REALLY) perfect washes, which immensely speeds up painting time, I often use them instead of layering).
