There's a video blog post where Jeremy talks about the dragons and the request for rider-less ones. Apparently he can quite easily change the howdah for armour plates along the neck. But, the straps seem to be an integral part of the body and a completely unadorned dragon would need to be quite severely re-sculpted. He seems to be very much into discussing ideas with supporters on the company's Facebook page, so I suggest looking up what has been said there and adding your own voice to the discussion.

I went for an early bird special on the Spider Demon! :dance: Amazing price for such a huge miniature!

Have asked on the Facebook page, adding that the straps distract from it working as a standalone model. They've answered "I agree that the straps can potentially disrupt a standalone dragon. However, keep watching the campaign and see what you think about the dragon upgrades as they unfold".

To my mind, not the best use of stretch goals. If a strapless dragon becomes an option at some point I can't help but reckon it would have been wiser to put that out there up front than as an option from a stretch goal, for the simple reason that an adorned dragon doesn't motivate me to pledge where an unadorned one would. Similarly with alternate arms on the demons, one or two clawed ones on the spider demon as up front options could have generated a pledge from 'Neshi fans unsure of that or the purely clawed demon.

Will still watch to see what comes of the options though. The minis are too good and at those KS prices it'd be daft to ignore 'em.

I agree. It is a it odd that he doesnt foreshadow the unlocks. It might sway someone to pledge who is on the fence.

Agree with Wyrm, cant pledge until both dragons are howdahless. Shame since they're awesome but still beasts of burden at present:(

Should strapless dragons become available, I am happy to upgrade my pledge in return for a contribution towards postage, for cmoners in the uk, if you later decide you want to come in for a dragon. Looks like one of the unlocks is ancient head options for the dragons :) pretty sure there will be at least the armour plug, if not some kind of more comprehensive rework option. But Jeremy has indicated something more extensive may be on the cards for the emperor dagon.. :) also there will be a hub in the uk for distribution, so no import duty FTW! :D

I absolutely cannot afford this right now (Just spent $3,000 on home repairs!) but if I *do* get in on it it'll be at the creature package level. Bookmarked it and will be checking back daily to see if I'm tempted (hint - I probably will be.)

I have no impulse control.

I think the riderless dragon kits are pretty sweet. Almost ready to unlock the next mini which looks to be like some kind of female tree ent demony thing. Color me excited.

The final stretch goal model has been revealed as the "Possessed Dragon" To say it's gribbly is an understatement. This is like a draconic version of The Thing... eeewwwww!!!!

actually pondering what to choose and what do loose. I had planned for rage deamon, spider deamon and treewoman. But i am seriously considering the possessed dragon and the plague angel now.
