These are by far the most well painted ogres i\'ve ever seen. I\'m speechless. The banner should have some sort of a sign though, it would complete the look. Nevertheless, this is a true piece of art! :D:D:D

Beautiful Margo,

but I expected nothing less.

I do have a bone to pick with you though. I managed to fight the urge to start an Ogre army but seeing these kind of results is steadily eroding my resistance.

(of course, mine would be a very poor facsimile :D )

Outstanding work, nothing less than one could expect from you. There\'s actually nothing to nitpick about... But then I\'m a sub-8 painter, so I\'ll leave that to others :)
Amazing, once more!

@Maggot: actually, I haven\'t seen the process of judging, but my friend, who also entered WHFB Regiment and was watching the process of judgind really close (while I was meeting CMONers! :D), told me about this. So that\'s just as much as I know. As for two identical miniatures/regiments placing in the same category, well, logically, I can understand why GW wouldn\'t do it. I think it makes perfect sense, and such kind of thing has never happened before.

@Albert, it was great to meet you too! And believe me, I\'m not the person whom you can confuse so easily with a hello-nice-to-meet-you kiss :)

@Ogrebane, I took a look at your ogres, so don\'t say things like that! They\'re quite nice, and rather untypical for ogres, too, which is a good thing!

Everybody: thank you!!!

Wonderful work, Margo! It is flawless and I simply don\'t understand why it did not place... clueless, confuzled. I feel kinda angry at the judges, some of the comp is beginning to look like it has flaws in the judging department. But I won\'t make an uninformed opinion.

I cannot begin to imagine how long all of those ogres took you to paint. Having painted a troll of relatively the same size and struggling to have the will to finish it makes me realise how much effort and talent has been poured into this piece of art! :bouncy:

Btw, I love Moscow, Russia, and your weather! :D

i can\'t understand the judging either......and i won a bronze demon! there were at least 3 minis that i saw in the lotr category that maybe should have placed above mine........these were: alexi_z\'s glorfindel (but it was a bad choice of mini), julienne cassess\'s haldir, and margo\' s lovely rohirim mini.

somehow i got the third place!!!

If this is the case with the judging I can\'t imagine how you feel, I\'d be annoyed beyond belief, that sucks that you didn\'t get a Silver Demon.

I don\'t know about other people, but I wouldn\'t see a problem if two of the same miniature won demons if they are the best painted entry into the category.

I wish I had the money to bid and win your unit - it truly is stunning.

Well if this is GW\'s policy, then it really does make a mockery of the idea of a competition.

I understand that as a company it\'s in GW\'s interest have variation in the winners for their marketing.

But in terms of promoting the concept that the best painted and/or converted win demons it\'s well past the mark.
The idea that if you enter Subject A, then it has to be better than all other entries of subject A, otherwise it wont place even if the other entries of other subjects are not as good, is laughable.

Sorry to rant; The whole GD judging thing is strange to me. I wish there was an alternative high-profile competition around! (There may well be a dedicated fantasy class at Euro-Militaire next year........)

Sorry Margo. This is excellent work as I said before; :)

@Maggot: to tell you the truth, I don\'t feel annoyed or upset about it. The thing is, I painted this unit as well as I could, did my best, and the judges\' desision was not something I had any power or control over. So, the bottom line is, I did my best and I think it\'s poinless getting annoyed or upset about things I could not control :)

@Orb: I see lots of logic in your post, however, it\'s a GW event and they set the rules. So I think it\'s a take-it-or-leave-it type of a situation ...

Margo. I know......totally their competion, they can do what they like. Just a shame.

:(

Just I\'ve been to loads of other competitions so I know what can be done regarding judging.

I\'ll shut up now!
