Ogre Kingdoms WIP

Hello! Haven't really posted here, but I have been working on my OK army for the last few months. Going to Games Day this upcoming weekend and decided I wanted to throw a couple entries into Golden Demon hoping to get lucky.

I'm really anal about my miniatures and so the OK army works perfect because there are so few models so I can justify spending a lot of time on them.

So far I have 12 Ironguts (w\Command) done, 2 Ironblasters, and my Slaughtermaster/Butcher. I love the way they've turned out. The Ironblasters I finished back in March and have worked on the Ironguts over the past month. The Slaughtermaster I converted months ago but started painting on Friday.

Please comment and let me know what you think.

Also, I have a painting blog I started very recently - http://litaniesofpaint.blogspot.com

Alright - pic heavy!

Ironguts unit - Particularly happy with the Standard. I wanted the teeth of the icon to look like gems.

Ironblasters - keep in mind these were the first ogres I painted.

Thanks again!

Just looked through the blog - really impressed with your progress, it seems that you're painting up the Ogres to a really nice standard pretty quickly :) A bit more information on the colours used etc could be useful, just in case anybody wanted to replicate. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments. I pulled a finalist medal for both entries at Golden Demon. Was happy with that... will work harder to improve my painting.

As far as the blog - I do plan on doing some tutorials and whatnot. Good suggestion.

At first I hated this... but its growing on me... WIP Mournfang Cav. Couldn't really figure out any other scheme to go with the fur... Their face sculpt is just so different from most miniatures... Looks kinda cartoony but open for comments, suggestions.

I would say finish off the rest of the mini and then if you are still not happy with the face you can darken it down with glazes and shades to make it more menacing. Right now, yeah it reminds me of the lion king for some reason, but the contrast is a perfect starting point for further work later if need be :)

Quite a few updates and a little explanation on how I painted my standard below on my blog. ( http://litaniesofpaint.blogspot.com ) I would repost the whole thing here, but it'd be a pain - lol.

Here is a pic of the banner though in it's current state. I will definitely post pics of the unit when they are finished!
