Pretty much the same sort of thing as with Ghark. What hurts this mini the most is the drybrushing. It always makes minis look dusty. Mould line are in evidence again, particluarly on the standard pole and the left hand in the bottom pic. This mini (like Ghark) could also use some gap-filling, particularly behind his head. The right shoulder guard, looks like it is meant to be bronze and not dirty. If the scratches had been brass instead of silver, the effect would have been really, really good. The metal disk of the standard is excellent!

You\'ve got a good thing going with metals, and with a little thought and planning behind the effect you want to achieve, they can only get better.

So, two main things to work on; mould lines, eradicate them all! Drybrushing, go for layering and highlighting instead of drybrushing.

You\'re right Modderrhu;

i think you canstill get away with some dry brushing. use thin paints to build up the colours a bit more gradually. it will take longer but will look smoother. drybrushing also works better if there is less contrast so try using a lighter basecoat.

or you could do a normal basecoat, lightly drybrush to achieve the first level of highlights and then layer to build them up a little more

I paint my thumb.
Got an 8 from me.
Though I agree with the comments, I think frution is at hand, maybe one of the last wall to break before you get \'really good\'
When you drybrush, you should DRYbrush and lightly, but I don\'t think you should throw away the technique altogether...

@modderrhu : Words of wisdom that are good for many of us;)

You did a really great job on the top of the standard - the horns, and the verdegris patina on the metal are very well executed!
