My resent work is actually a sculpt or heavily modified ogre head for 40K ogryn. I posted it some time ago but then there was new years eve and I was a bit sick so now I could tell more about it. I don't dislike GW's ogres as such, but I just wanted to to something different and also practise sculpting. I think those OK ogres are more like mongolian looking brutes (well more or less) so I thought I could do something like "old school" style ogre/ogryn.
I kept those original eyes even though they tend to be rather small little pig eyes. The rest is re-sculpted. So there is like 20% of original face left and I also removed right ear, smoothened forehead etc.
I think that this is rather nice, if you don't mind me saying so. I had some frustrating moments there, but with a care and patience I managed to do it. It's not best of the best, but it looks quite like I wanted. And what makes me even more happy is that I haven't even sculpted that much. My first actual face attempt looked more like principal Skinner from the Simpsons.
Next thing that I should practise more are those eyes and one other things that are pain in the ass, are fingers. Thank god ogres have rather chubby fingers and not so elegant ones.
