Congratulations!:victory:
Who would have thought that:
1) Chern Ann had the forsight to put marriage proposals in the description.
2) Someone would actually use said forum for that purpose.
3) That painting little pewter figurines would bring two people together in maritial bliss.
4) That Scott didn't make some bizzare off-topic comment :foot-in-mouth:.
Questions:
1) Will you two be painting each others cake topper ornament?:cake:
2) Which country will the nuptials take place in?:handshake:
3) Which country will residence be taken up in (England to get first dibs on GW minis or USA for drier weather)?
4) Will I be invited?
My family and I wish you both all the best, treat each other well and enjoy everything.
Chris

Yes, like a huge MSN chat (with video & audio), so when they ask if anyone objects we can all yell/type "She's to good for him!"
Oh wait thats Scotts line:beerwave:...

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes and congratulations. Both Liz and I are very happy. We don't know when the wedding will actually be. We'll have to consult legal advice about that as we're of different nationalities and I know on the current visa waiver I have I can't change my marital status.

I want to say thanks to everyone too. This board has been so wonderful to both Roger and I over the years. Thanks to all of you for the support and friendship you've given. Thanks to Chern Ann for the board and the suggestion about proposals and thanks for being a part of this moment.

Done the whole "imported spouse" thing. Just be sure you've done the paperwork, don't even attempt to lie on anything, and things usually go smoothly. And if you though triplicate was bad, wait until you see Immigration's six ply forms!

Way to go, both of you!

Don't worry about the engagement thing; if it takes some time, you can take advantage of the bureaucracy. My wife and I were engaged for 2 years, and it really did help us set things up right. The wedding planning was a breeze. The families got used to the idea long before wedding photos. Most importantly, though, we got used to being an inseparable couple long before we actually said the words. Don't know why that bit helped so much, but there you go.

Best wishes and prayers, and here's to many, many anniversary posts here!
