Tire blew out at 70-ish MPH in the far left lane (US) and I had to flap over to the far right shoulder.
This was the damage done.

My insurance came out NEXT DAY! And cut me the check (minus deductible).

It's now all been fixed.

I even used some of my school money to replace ALL four tires(and rims) and even got a SPARE so this doesn't happen to me again and leave me stranded for the 2 hours it took the tow truck to get there.

I love GEICO!

I'm lucky I was slowing down, with both hands on the wheel.
My tire blew out mere seconds after a ditzy blonde in a white roadster cut me off.

There was apparently weakening of the inner wall.
The inner belts blew outward, so it wasn't a puncture.

How much did it run you? It only looks as if the facia was snapped off from drag. Was there more damage that I'm not seeing?

Man, that must have been quite a bang and a shock. Was it hard to control? And the big question - did you save 15%.....or more?

@Vikey ~ Thanks...I'm cool headed under crisis.

@ Id ~ The quarter panel was curled under, the bumber brackets were just gone, and the headlight! was knocked of it's fixture, so had to get whole new headlight casing, new panel, new bumper.
--What I got:
-New Hood
-New Bumper
-New Panel
-New Headlight
-5 New Tires
-4 New Rims (kept one for the spare)
-New paint job (to match the parts and blend it all in)

$150 to get it towed home
$25 for a crap tire just to get it to the shops
$987 for the rims and Tires
$750 for ALL the body work (including Paint)
$250 for the Brand New "Textured" Bumper
$179 for a New Muffler (Knocked loose, noticed it was louder and there was a pipe rattling after the tires were replaced.

The check from the adjustor was $1400 ($1600 - $200 deductible)
Total was $2341 (Got the original damage fixed for $1150) {They weren't paying for the tire}

@airhead ~ Nope, I checked the tires (all four) before I left since it was a trip about an hour and a half from home. I'd been having problems with the OTHER front tire losing pressure, but the one that blew was the best tire of the four!!

@Shawn ~ You tell me:
$242 a Year for Full Coverage (Comprehensive/Collision/uninsured/under insured)

The next cheapest coverage I found was $400+ per quarter(3 months)

@Wiccanpony ~ I'll tell you after airhead guesses

@airhead What are your guesses?

Not even close.

The first 7 words I said were the same..no, no no, No! NO NO NO!
Followed by Not me! No Way!!

Then you were close because once I got it parked on the side of the road, after Calling my woman, then the tow company, and finally the insurance claim office.
I sat there for about 20 minutes, soaking it all in, and hollered out at the top of my lungs:
"G*D F**KING D**NIT!" rinse repeat.....LOL!
