Oil Washes on Historical Miniatures?

Hi,

I've been looking into using oil washes on 28mm Historical miniatures and have found a ton of stuff on Fantasy/Sci Fi stuff in terms of tutorials/vids. Either my google foo is very off or the tutorials/vids simply do not exist.

I'm aiming to use them for The Crimean War, Ancients, Dark Ages and Late Medieval mini's.

Does anyone know of any such tutorials/vids using Oil Washes on 28mm Historical miniatures?

Thanks.

If you’ve watch the vids for fantasy then the same principles apply to Historical miniatures.
Get yourself a test mini and play around.
(Called the Lollipop Principle…A.K.A ‘Suck it and see’.)

The same principles yes, but sci-fi and fantasy miniatures tend to have wildly exaggerated features when you compare them to historical sculpts ergo the enquiry/hope that there were some vids around.

But at the end of the day, you're right, if I'm going to do it, I should just give it a try....... now what the hell do I need to buy in terms of paint, washes and gear? :brushlick::mad-tongue:
