Been doing this here mini painting thing for a while and I\'m going back over some things that I started before my last hiatus from painting and all I can think is What the F*&k was I thinking?

Anyone else ever experience this feeling?

Every damn day of the week my friend. Im trying to finish a very large sculpt for a client and Ive spent the last week going what the FCUK was I thinking when I made this..cause Ive obviously not followed the art at all.

I\'m looking at half started 3yr old paintjobs - now I\'m famous for playing mechs in battletech that look like something out of a bad surrealist nightmare, but even this one I\'m looking at going HUH?

Methinks its going in the dip.:D

Defintely. Took a 3 or 4 year hiatus myself and when next I picked up a brush I\'d went from 4.7 rated to my current standard and all I could think was \"How the hell was I so terrible\". Certainly didn\'t get better through experience. A year on and I\'m looking back at my first attempts I was so proud of and already wondering what on earth I was at. *laughs*

Always wondered do the masters get the same thing, look back on a 9.5+ from years ago and think it below their standard. Is there a level one gets to where skill is near impossible to improve and it comes down to composition of a piece just?

Oh Yes.!!!

Mind you I recently re-visited a Server I built for an Arts Centre and had that exact same thought. Man I must have been missing my coffee that day!

I look at the stuff I started last weeek and think wtf was I thinking, and yes when I look at Alexi z,s stuff I want to just throw it all out and crawl under a rock from the shame of it all.DD

See, I dont compair my work to that of others - I paint for myself, so thats not a problem.

I\'m also trying to figure out where I came up with the dark metallic blue green, cause I dont remember ever owning this color. Ever.

Oh I know the feeling! I\'m apinting every day and try not to look at last week\'s mini as I feel like repainting them if I see them!
I guess we improve with work AND we see more details!

I keep getting the, ooh, Ive had a better idea, and changing something.

Which is why Im not touching any of my deathwing until I have all the bits, and I can do it all in one hit, and finish it.

But I have minis I started 3, 4, 5 years ago still not finished.
