Old Great Unclean One - WIP

So I finished the GUO, didn't do much extra work. The worms in white-ish didn't work out, so left them orangy. No new pics as it looks like almost like the last time you saw it :)

I wanted to do something completely different. I am a litle obsessed with water effects. I don't know why. I could watch youtube videos all days about guys doing water bases and terrain.

I decided to try my own on a small base to get the techniques right.

It helped me work on my blending (light to dark blue, very easy actually). Then I apply some Vallejo water texture stuff, again very easy. Let it dry a good 24 hours.

I followed a few online tutorials that did the waves with a white drybrush, but all it did was catch the very sharp edges on the waves which created a very thin line of white that is still visible. I then stippled over the wave crests with white but I am not 100% happy.

Any tips? Should I try the Vallejo foam and snow thing?

As you can se, the waves are not super high. When applied with the Vallejo water texture, they are much higher but when drying the flatten out by almost 100%.

With a bit of light you can see the shine much better.

wow cool find! I see that his waves are larger and there are less of them, decreasing the 'scale' of it. I really need to figure out how to do the top of the waves better.
