Old Heroquest Minis - once upon a time.

Hy there,

since I am not able to paint at the moment (still on relocation) and to the fact, that many of the forum members are a \"little bit older\", here are some old Heroquest minis I painted some years ago.
They are not very accurate and I did not spent much time on each mini because I wanted a playable set very FAST. Yes I know, I am impatient.
So I don\'t want any comments on the painting (I know it\'s lousy ) but I just thought some of you still remember the game (or still even play it). Here you go...

I loved Heroquest when I was younger, played it loads, had all the expansions, it was great.
I recently bought it again and want to get all the expansion again aswell, but have you seen how much the Wizards of Morcar goes for . Anyway heres a Barbarian I painted about a month ago have\'nt got around to finishing any of the others .

some of those minis are pretty cool, but if I may ask, what is hero quest ??? ( I\'m a bit on the young side so guess I was still playing playmobils when those existedd )

I have several of those up. I bought 2 partial games, constructed one whole and sold it, so I\'m just painting off the pieces I kept.
I don\'t have a barbarian, but I\'ve painted up the chaos sorcerer, warrior, some orcs and the Dwarf.
I like your altar.
I\'m trying to decide with the sarcofagus whether to do what you did or to paint it all marble as though it\'s carved.
I\'m glad you posted, it helps me decide.

heros quest is a RPG style board game. you move your mini around the \"dungeons\" and have line of sight on thing in rooms. you quest for a certain item in the dungeon and gain experience as you go.

it came out in later 80\'s and was made by Milton Bradley and Games Workshop.

you might even notice a few warhammer and 40k minis in the hero quest line also.

Yeah the scenery in particular looks good, and the fimir has an otherworldy glow to it.

I did like the fimir, shame they got rid of them.

I still have advanced heroquest in the cupboard at my parents.

Well there ARE some guys who still know it. :bouncy:
In my german mini forum nearly noone knew it, they were all too young.
I also had the basic box and one addon but many minis were broken, doors were missing etc. So some years ago I decided to get me a new one. Thanks to EBAY. But DAMN these games are expencive!!! It seems like there are not many complete boxes left. I now own the master edition basic box and all addons except one. The last addon (morcars mages) cost me a fortune!

Your barbarian is really great. I think mine should go under a \"tanning bed\", but the skin tone of yours is perfect.

I am 20 and I know that game very well, played it quite a lot with a friend. With completely unpainted minis.

The only thing I still have is a Mummy, who became a great star player in my undead Bloodbowl team. He still has pride of place in my cabinet
