Old models made new?

Hey all.

Was going through my models the other day, and I realised something. I have been painting for a fair few years now, and have amassed a large-ish collection. Sadly, most of the older stuff is unpainted.

Which got me thinking. I love some of these old sculpts, and it would be a real shame to see them never get painted (and there\'s no way I\'m ebaying them). So I made the decision to paint one, using modern techniques/tones to make it seem as contemporary as possible. I have narrowed it down to these:

Goblin squig herder (1992)
Wood elf wardancer (1995)
Ghazgkull (1992 version)
Stone troll (Pic)
Necromunda Ganger (1995)

If anyone wants to make a suggestion, or even join in and paint their own \'vintage\' model, then please do.

I guess that these two would be the ones that I would vote for.

I guess the qustion that I have is, What\'s stopping you from painting any model new/old with a \'new\' (which I\'m guessing that you mean realise/muted color, dirt,scratches, and what nots).

@mud duck: With the older models I usually like to stick with the original paint scheme as much as possible, in order to keep the charm they have. Guess I just fancied a change this time round. Ghazzy and the ganger are very cool models, I think the ganger especially would look pretty good in a modern style.

@Recoil: I\'m leaning towards the troll too, simply because he is such a nice display model. Funny thing is, this was set aside as one of the models I was gonna send off for mini exchange!

which necromunda Ganger is it??

Ghazgkull is second choice..

@ PainterboyRoy - What you hoping for...? Hopefully Escher or Van Saar ganger myself. Or a Spyrer.

i vote for the ganger. you should change this to a proper poll!

For Dan.. Redemptionist maybe, I painted nearly all gangs from Necromunda as commissions, sold off Spryrers and ratskins recently unpainted, but still have a couple of characters to do one day.. lol
