I painted this guy for my army. Its painted to my high table top standard. A nice mini to paint and i experimented with some OSL on the sword though i think i went overboard and it doesn't quite look right.

I can really see the first thing someone should do when painting competition entries is to take a picture.....damn that can expose some sloppy paint work! :D Ah well, its a gaming piece more than a display piece, hence the boring base.

Any comments and criticism is always welcome and here's a vote for those that want it:

Looks very good for a gaming mini. The only issue I can see with the OSL is that it is only on the blade finger, thumb and horn. nearly all of the OSL I have seen work well has been extreme.

I like the metallics and the base is absolutely fine for gaming. I would personally spend a bit more time on the robes though, maybe a wash and pick out some highlights after.

Thanks guys! I'll do a bit more to him then. The cloak does look a bit flat and i must admit, a shadow grey basecoat is perhaps too harsh for the effect i was after. Still, lesson learned i guess.

Try adding a couple of extra desk lamps to your lighting rig with daylight simulation bulbs it will do wonders for your photography at a cost of about £15
