Old School Ork (if anyone wants to flashback)

I was cleaning out under the house last month, just throwing away a bunch of stuff that had accumulated. I stumbled upon oodles of my old minis I\'d painted in the late 80s and early 90s. Mostly all Bloodbowl stuff.

I picked through some to see if anything was worth salvaging. Soaked \'em in some Oven Cleaner.

And I found this guy. I\'ve never even played any GW games other than Bloodbowl so I don\'t know how he got in my collection!

But, I love the detail on this guy. Pure lead. Stamped GW 1996 on the piece that fits into the slot Wonder if this mini is older than some people painting minis

Anyway, I thought it was exceptionaly detailed for such an old mini. Glued him onto a slot base and will give him love eventually. I also found another Ork and two Eldars? From the same year.

Hey DrClarke I think it\'s older than 1996 ---- try closer to 1986.
It looks like one of the very early Orks from the First edition \"Rogue Trader\" version of 40K.

I hope you aren\'t implying you are throwing away old minis.
Give them a new home if you must, but do not condemn them to the landfill

D\'oh! Ya, I meant 1986 And I was wondering if I accidently put 1996 after I had shut down my computer last night.

The Eldars are just plain strange looking.

vincegamer - I only tossed would could not be salvaged, even after a 3-hour oven cleaner bath.

I ended up with a butt-load of skaven, a large amount of bloodbowl halfings, and various other minis. But those two Orks and two Eldars were by far the oldest stuff in there.

There is one other mini, that is not stamped and I don\'t recognize it in any sense. It seems kinda of like a sci-fi space orientated mini. I\'ll take a picture and post it tonight... maybe someone will know where it\'s from. It\'s like nothing I\'ve ever seen before

You are going to laugh I have a whole mob of those guys still sitting in unopened blisters. The prize of the lot... Larry, Moe and Curly. Two Minderz holding up a Wierdboy. I need to quit my day job so I can get around to painting them up one day

Old School?

I would actually call him \"new skool\".
For me, \"old skool\" refers to the pig-snouted orcs of AD&D1. I have one here, wearing plate-mail, armed with a pick. It says only \"ORC10\" on the base. Probably Grenadier or Ral Partha, definitely from the 70\'s. Now *that\'s* older than many people painting here.

And you thought *you* were showing your age, Dragonsreach... lol
