Thats a green for the new Warlord angel figure from Reaper
Sandra Garrity is the sculptor. Quite frankly I think it is one of her better sculpts.
I dont normally like her human figures as they usually look like they came directly from 1984 with the big hair and everything. But lately she has improved and updated her stuff.
And NO ONE does a horse better than Garrity. Her Equines are killer. I\'d still like to see her version of a nightmare
Of course for human figures though, I still like Werner Klock and Jason Wiebe\'s stuff better :D

Precisely why I was going to question that it was by Garrity lol I mean, where\'s the Farah Fawcett Hair ???

I do agree about her equines though. And if this is a new direction by her, I definately approve.

I totally agree that it is a nice figure and that the axe is out of place. If it finds its way into my hands I\'ll be swapping in a flamberge style blade, which ought to look natural on a hilt that long, and some bigger wings. Those just don\'t look large enough to support her.

Nice!

I love the figure and personally, I\'d leave the axe alone. But there again, I have a thing about axes:bouncy:

Unfortunately, with over 2.5 thousand postings finn17 became so slow in the forums (Damned forum engine must read every post) that he spawned the clone, finn18, to do his running around for him:D

a little shocked....

wowzer...

I am surprised to see that it is a Garrity sculpt. I agree with Lurch and Dauber, I thought most of her \"human\" sculpts have become static and boring. Not so here.

Reaper just keeps making the right stuff, and maybe its just me, but it doesn\'t seem to have the \"impact\" the other major manufacturers have.

I think they have some of the best sculptors, ideas, and customer service of all the majors, yet they just don\'t seem to get the \"respect\" they deserve.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that?

Hm... I\'m wondering if this is related to the game side of things. GW and Rackham figures are both intended for games which seem to be pretty popular. Judging by the CAV forum here (last post Oct 29), Reaper\'s CAV game isn\'t as popular, and their Warlord game is still in beta. Reaper\'s figures are generally liked or disliked for the figure alone and what you can personally do with it, they\'re not so much part of a backstory, there\'s little fluff, and no gotta get the set impetus.

Or maybe it\'s that Reaper figures are cheaper, a lot of people seem to truly believe you get what you pay for. (Or that you must justify paying more for something by viewing it as better. ;))

Personally I think Reaper is great, I like a lot of their sculpts, the people that work the company seem like nice folks genuinely interested in keeping their customers happy, and I like the reasonable prices. I think you\'re right, though, Reaper isn\'t as well regarded.

I\'m beginning to form a grudging respect for Reaper, after years of being turned off by their minis. First with Jarrett\'s metallicadept competition, then these new minis, and Steelcult\'s pestering. Though it probably won\'t end up being my fave, as i really like having context to the minis, hence the lack of rules and fluff isn\'t so to my taste.

It has been my long held opinion that while Reaper\'s product is of a very impressive quality and their service is excellent, their product support is severely lacking. They\'ve come out with three or four games that really haven\'t taken off, CAV is probably the most successful of them. I was working in a game store when Apocalypse, their Dark Heaven wargame, came out. There was a little industry buzz, but the consumers didn\'t really jump on it. I haven\'t heard much about Warlord either and really I don\'t expect to. They just don\'t seem to be prepared to push a game, no matter how much it would increase sales. Of course, since they have been so successful under their current business model, maybe they don\'t need to.
