On display- cause for derision?

Maybe I am just really naive- but just because someone posts work online does it mean it is acceptable to \'slam\' them? I don\'t mean critique, or even offer suggestions- I know thats expected- heck its a good thing. But does putting your work online give people the \'right\' to attack your works?

Let me explain- I posted some of my work over at TMP just like I do here. The reviews were varied with some people liking it and some not- which is to be expected. But one fellow (who is likely on this forum as well) seems to go out of his way to tell me my stuff is crap- for example I asked for pics of some figures he had reviewed. His reply that all of the pics of MY stuff was s h i- well you get the point. I honestly dont get it- did I cut this guy off in traffic or something?

edit- rumor has it that this fellow works for a \'rival\' company- wonderful- now I am attacked by sock puppets. Wait- isnt that a sign of success?

Ignore him.

In fact I learned a long time ago that unless I\'ve learned to really trust the person and have gotten to know them, most of what people say online I take with a grain of salt, especially when they decide to be derisive. I\'d pay more attention to the words of those who actually gave you something constructive you can work with and worded their post tactfully. :]

Stripwalker. Out of curiosity, I went and looked up your stuff. I amn always amazed that anyone can sculpt greenstuff so I always give it high marks. Your painting may not be godly (like mine or most other people here) but it is better than average. 6\'s here are nothing to be ashamed of. I would say that your naysayer is a butt and write him off. Especially if he is not giving any constructive stuff to back it up with.
