Onion

Does anybody know how to get the smell of onion off your hands?
I had to slice about 40 onions today at work and my hands are stinking, putting me off when I eat and drink.

Iv washed them with soap, handwash, had a bath, poured mouthwash on them, rubbed lemon onto my hands.

But nothing seems to work. And they flipping stink. Badly.

 you could try making a thick paste of baking soda and slatter it on you hands, then put on rubber gloves and let it sit for a half hour, sniff. If still bad try it again a time or two.

Under cold water, rub a stainless steel knife with baking soda, using your whole hand. There\'s something about the steel that neutralizes the onion. After you\'ve done that and the smell is pretty much gone pour a bit of vanilla in your hands, wash it around and rinse it off. That should take care of it all.

I suppose if your not careful rubbing the knife, you will no longer care what your hands smell like.

Concentrated sulphuric acid would definitely do the job! :duh: It would eat away those onion residues in a heartbeat! You wouldn\'t be able to paint for a while, though... while your hands heal... lol

Only uberdark would try to cram tomatoes up a skunk\'s arse...

And now that all the brainified wags have managed to figure out how to remove onion from the hands, could they tell me how to get chilli off the hands? (Saturday saw me with acceptably, mildly tingling hands not daring to take a properly aimed piss)

Baking soda worked last night, it was 2am and I couldn\'t be bothered to make a glove so just just washed my hands in a thick paste. Meant I could go to sleep without reeking of a pit stop burger bar :possessed:

Now, I\'m sure I\'m not the only one wondering... Why did you chop 40 onions?

EDIT: Ok, saw you mentioned it was at work... could have something to do with it! :innocent:

Better than stuffing skunks.

@Ritual: The acid might take care of the chilli, but it also makes the straight pissing problem a little worse.
