I don't post on here very often but this my latest submission

I'm well happy I finally got above 5 . I'm trying new things all the time but not really sure what I should try and work on to step it up, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi acron! good job on the mini, both the skin and cloth looks nice. also really nice blending on the sword, but you need to highlight the very edges more to get it look more sharp!

...hmm i dont know whats goning on with his elbows though, just plain white? same thing with the white at the helmets eyes and the sword sheath. it just too white it look unnatural.

Nice job on this guy, but I agree with Skell that you should highlight a bit more the edges. I like the sword.

Thanks so much for the advice guys! I see what you mean about the white, I was sort of thinking without it the mini would be too bland. I've since gone back and redid the white parts in the same colour as the armour and added some lighter highlights to the sword. I'll post up new pics when I get some decent light. Again really appreciate the help

I'd echo pretty much what the other guys have said really, your flesh areas are looking reasonably good too, also I think the base is letting you down a bit too

if you post a pic in the forums first, I'd suggest the WIP or Painting sections, you'll get the feedback you're after to improve the mini, so when it comes time to submit it, you'll have done the best job you can, and improved your chance of getting a better score before you put it in your gallery

I gave you a 6 for it, a better base may have gotten a 7

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely be posting it in the WIP section for the next mini. On the base I was aiming for a damaged, rubble strewn road; is it more that it's underwhelming in terms of the execution or more a case of just being unclear in what its supposed to be?

Have you had a look a the Asphalt Base tutorial by Cregan Tur it's quite good

Thanks for that Mickc22, Bookmarked. That tutorial was really helpful, I'll put it in place on the next mini.
