I think I\'m going to give up painting blokes. They never turn out as good as the female figures I paint.

This is the third mini from our little studio. This is the first mini I have ever done the concept for and it\'s a great feeling to see the sculptor (JAG) bring her to life after just handing him a sketch.
As she is quite a glamorous voodoo lady from the deep south, I did her base to look like the tiled floor of some french colonial type house (If i can find the pic I took of the base before I stuck her on I\'ll post it here)

I\'m planning a step by step of her skin next week so I\'ll post a link when I get it done.

This is quite a big pic of her as she is quite a small figure. There are more views

Base

Thanks so much for your comments.

Here is a top view of the tiled base. I just searched google images for tile reference.

I painted the tiles a buff colour then sponged them up to a cream colour - then painted the freehand and finally aged them using several glazes and wipes.

Wow and a holy crap...

Fluffy;

Completely agree, you should paint women from now on for sure. When I scrolled down to the picture, I thought I was looking a photograph or a magazine. That is an AMAZING paint job!

Keep them coming.

Cheers,
Grumb

really like the model and the paintjob, skin tone is perfect, a tutorial on how you did it would be awesome, i have to say however, that i would be even more excited about a tutorial on the base. \"I painted the tiles a buff colour then sponged them up to a cream colour\" a more indepth description would be awesome, i love the effect but am not clear on how you did it. \"aged them using several wipes\" im also unclear on this part, is a wipe a glaze of some type applied with a cloth or is it some sort of pigment effect. free-hand was pretty self explanatory, even i got that part :D

I will try to do one when I do the skin tone tut next week. It is quite simple.

I\'m in love with this mini.
It was pointed out to me last night and since then my enthusiasm for it has only increased.
The sculpting is absolutely fantastic.
The snake is the first one i have seen that looks like a snake, the girl is just sexy sexy.
To top this off you have done some brilliant painting.

Bravo

I will be buying this one.

No swords, no joy. I WANT SWORDS!

Actually, I\'d rather have a cup of tea. In the meantime though, very well done :D

I zoomed out a bit to get a feel for how it might look as a regular-sized mini. THe paintwork shows up very impressively at that scale, and the delicate nature of the piece shows up too. Not my favourite mini or style, but I can definitely appreciate it. Very good.

Edit: oh, and she\'s actually very sexy. I would, if you get my gist. :D
