Opening a limited edition blister

Hey.

Do you have any models just for collecting purpose? If so, do you have the same desire to rip it out off the blister (games workshop)?
Does it mean a reduction of its value actually after all, since the painting might give it a way higher value instead?
I'm in a conflict (is that the right word?) with myself at the moment if I open it or not.

i suggest you google image search cleavage to get an idea how we use the word..

anyway, if you are a good painter you can up the price but if it's really rare, it'll be worth more in the packet often. i tend to buy two of stuff like that so i have on to keep and one to paint

Not gonna buy 2... I'm glad if I can get a single one already. So screw it, I'm painting it well enough (I can go to 8.X, with enough patience maybe even a 9) when the time has come. So long it'll stay where it is.

How about you other guys? Know my situation? What do you do? Discuss, I'm curious.

I dont think it really matters, a model is worth what its worth inside the packaging the same as outside in most cases. depends what it is. but most of the time it doesn't matter. what is it??

I still have the gotrek and felix models and the resin base to paint. Might be worth a couple of quid, maybe not. But i got it because it was pretty cool and I wanted to have a stab at it! Just need to get round to it...

Depends what you are. A geek would open it and enjoy it. A nerd would store it, having evaluated that one day it might be worth decent money. Be a geek, we have more fun.

I'm something between a geek/painter and a collector, don't care too much about the value of the mini though... normally. It just go into my mind, since it was sold mint in blister.

The word... well, I replaced it with "conflict".

I would have expected, based on how collectors are in other areas of interest, that having it in the unopened packaging would be a selling point (even more so if it's pristine). Very surprised it wouldn't make a difference here.
